RE is hot these days. Seems like a good time for a thread to complain and discuss why there haven't been decent figures for years. Or post old ones, rare ones, customs, whatever you feel like.

Seems there's everything except 6-7 inch action figures.

I have the Limtoys 1/12 "RPD Officer". It looks damn good, but a little tough to pose because of the tightness of the clothes.

My dream line is Figuarts/MonsterArts from the original games.

Have there been good figures, ever? The only ones I ever liked were the old toybiz ones. Cheap as they were. I remember those neca figures being essentially statues. Did their Jill figure even have any articulation?

This is a neat one, never seen it before. Her face doesn't really resemble her original design, though. I guess it is a bit of a tall order having a modern figure resemble a PS1 character.

My dream is really to have a line of 6" figures at $25 or so. Why can't we have a Black Series / Marvel Legends type deal? There's enough characters in the history of the series and you know people would shell out for army builder zombies/RPD cops.

The NECA ones were close to statues, yeah, but fantastic sculpts and a good price. The old ToyBiz ones were goofy but they were cheap and had amusing gimmicks and a fun selection of characters and monsters. Honestly I'd be fine with either type of toy.

The thigh swivels are pretty tight on mine.
Also when rotating the bicep and shoulder joints, it's best to move the arm separately from the sleeve to keep the fabric from stretching and to get the best range out of the articulation.

There have been more RE toys, both official and unofficial in the last 5 years than in the entire existence of the franchise. And with RE4make, there's going to be at least another 3 official releases, let alone the ones that'll probably get made by random chinese companies. I know you came here from /v/ but jesus fucking christ.

Perfect timing, I actually just ordered a Patriot Studios Zombie Officer to pair with my limtoys Leon. I'm pretty happy with it but there are a few issues. For the positives; the outfit looks great, the accessories(the few that there are) work and the paint job is gooey(although the blood on the shirt is a bit haphazard compared to the prototype). The tiny printed details on the various badges are still somewhat legible, even as small as they are. The negatives are that the body has NO wrists at all, so no alt hands and you're stuck with the hand pose you choose(there's two options). Another is the shirt sleeves are very limiting, making it hard to pose his arm straight out in front of him without stressing the bottom of the sleeve. The ankles are a weird hackjob as well, basically being a weird ball that goes into a balljoint that's in the shoes as far as I can tell.

Overall, I think it was worth the $60 bucks shipped, especially since most of these types of figures are starting at 80-100 these days.

There's no way this is true. 1998-2009 had NECA, Toybiz, Palisades, Hot Toys, and Moby Dick all putting out whole lines of figures(admittedly, most of them were staction in this era) up until the release of RE5(minus a few hot toys stragglers.)

Since then the offerings have been pretty limp, mostly RE6 and Operation Raccoon City, until they starting picking up somewhat due to RE2make, and even most of those are 1/6th or statues. Not even including funko pops,ducks, and third party could you come close to the earlier heyday.

I'm just glad third party is somewhat carrying the torch.Speaking of, 5ktoys is teasing someone making a licker.

im not the guy you're replying to, but Capcom is cursed. there's never any middle ground. look at SF. you go from playmates to storm collectibles. it has happened before with megaman.
the most I have ever got out of someone was when I was trying to track down the bravo bros hunk. someone was nice enough, or annoyed enough to say capcom doesn't have anyone with aptitude, or understanding to do merch outside of one- then-done deals. he went as far to say that if you don't get it right the first time at presentation, they kick it back with a silent no all together. the company goes back, reworks the figure, and goes to present it again. capcom ignores them all together, or ghosts them if they're not a Japanese company. i don't have any proof of this, but if you want to start chasing down leads and hear something else please tell us.

This is interesting but weird too. There have been RE figures at every level from the junkiest Funko to Hot Toys. What is it they would be looking for? Would they really think they wouldn't get a roughly Marvel Legends or Black Series from Hasbro, or whatever?

If you need official capcom branding on your toys to enjoy them then you're a retard. Look at this entire thread, there are plenty to fit many niches at multiples scales and more coming. If your bar is "it needs to be sanctioned!!!!!!!!!" then you might as well just wallow and pay hundreds for the old palisades figures.

DAMTOYS are officially licensed, they've released re2's default appearance leon and have claire otw in her new/classic look and another leon in his classic appearance. Absolutely fantastic 1/6 figures and they're stocked to the brim with weapons and accessories,

The 1/12 leon that was released by LIMTOYS is a shrunken down version of the 1/6 figure. There was also a 1/6 HUNK released by Ekuaz Studio that is most likely DAMTOYS under a pseudonym since they share a lot of the same parts with no drop in quality.

There's so many other characters and outfit variations that could be done, and lord knows Funko loves releasing a million little variations for every line. But they didn't do it with RE for some reason? Chris is the central character of the whole series and didn't even get a Pop at all...

Not him but that post says "both official and unofficial" and half the toys posted in this thread are the same type of thing as 3p transformers so I don't see what the issue is. Like the Ekuaz Hunk has exactly the same moulds used for the guns and other accessories overlap, and the behind the scenes talk implies or outright states that they didn't get the go ahead to make anything but Leon and Claire, so they made what the fuck ever they wanted with a side company.
Like I don't have the comparison photos on hand but I don't see the issue with niches being filled by 3rd party companies. It's way better than the only option being the awful early Playarts ORC stuff.

I don't really care about the license, the issue for me is price point. I'm sure the $60 3rd party figures are great, but I'd be perfectly happy with a $25 figure from Hasbro/NECA/whoever. Come on, Marvel Legends style RE figures at $25 each with a build a figure Lady D or Tyrant? That's the dream.
