Nobody replied to this idea in the last thread but how would you guys feel about a "late backer" reward of a yet another figure that you could get for backing Eternia in the last week? It would incentivize people to support in that final push as well as give previous backers some consideration to double dip. It's mostly just a consolation item for those who missed out on Grayskull. Or do you think this would piss off those who already supported and result in cancelations to reorder for the late backer figure?
Anonymous
>>10108860 >the fake one that uses an obvious bait image used to intentionally piss people off Have you tried not being pissed off?
Anonymous
>>10108872 No that would piss off people who backed early on, just reveal a last minute new figure to bait people to do one final push, but that's it. Nobody is gonna drop $1200+tax just for an extra figure even if it was Nude-Ra the nudist woman in the Universe or something.

Then they redo it with the vintage toy ehad later because they know everyone hated it but bought it anyway, yet will double dip. At least this one will have a real head as an alt, but still the movie sword looks like generic flea market "hang it on the wall" shit instead of the power sword. I got the SDCC box set because Mattel will either somehow not do a retail Skeletor at all or will make it Creations bullshit. eBay markup wasn't as bad as I expected either. The painted weapons look nice, so long as they aren't paint chipped. You'll need either auto touch-up paint or strip & redo to fix any chips. But they strain the joints worse. He-Man has a silver vest which looks okay but the retail version is more 80s toy. The bodies are a bit different & shading on the face is a bit heavier than retail. The face & body match better in this set. The flocking is nice but I worry about longevity. Skeletor is the He-Man body with hands from NE, new armor & belt & I think Zodac's feet. Staff is NE. Jointed jaw head is okay but the Alcala head from Origins Keldor looks better. Reprints of the first 2 80s minicomics & kind of a shitty ring.

That's also how I judge the quality of a MOTU character.
>Gimmick, role, and media. Tri-Klops and Trapjaw are both A-tier in this regard for having such simple yet fun gimmicks, major parts in the media, and a strong role for play as a tech/pirate guy and bounty hunter. When I get my Eternia the 'diverse' King Greyskull is staying well out of sight in the box and I plan on putting the Barbarian chad from the Legends of Draganore set in his place, that Blue cat headed female will also look great as a "Guardian" to display with the main cat tower.

Oh wow, so now EVERYONE gets a King Grayskull figure if Eternia hits 10K... Early backers totally screwed over thanks to the whining losers that couldn't commit in the first week.

Looks like Eternia is still crawling towards the 10k goal at a snail's pace.

>>10123030 Good. I hope it doesn't hit 10K now that early backers lost their reward.

>>10123046 Even if you're a reseller, selling both KG and Keclar would net you more than just a slightly more exclusive KG (there will already be 8k out there, what's 2k more, unless it just blows up in terms of backers).

>>10123058 I did buy two Eternias with the intent to sell the figures and one playset as separate items in hopes of recouping some of what I spent on the Eternia playset that comes out to $640 after tax and shipping -- far too much to pay for what you're actually getting. So yeah, I did intend to sell the other playset and figures from the other one to offset the cost of everything.
I already sold part of my pre-order, too, but if that person decides to cancel their order then I'll just cancel my Eternia pre-orders and never buy another Mattel product again. Might even consider selling my Origins collection just so I don't have to feel like I have some half-assed collection without the so-called "crown jewel" in my collection. It's all or nothing.

>>10123081 >It's all or nothing. Well, that's your prerogative and decision then. I personally find that the completionist mindset is just not the right choice to make.
Also your earlier point about selling part of your order, but will cancel if the person cancels, first off you'll likely be able to make more down the line when no one will be able to get Eternia, and secondly if you're so quick to drop the order (and Origins, and all Mattel products forever) then you're probably better off just dropping the line now. Doesn't sound like you're enjoying it anymore if this is the mentality you have around it.

>>10123113 Don't get me wrong, I love Origins but the whole Eternia thing put a really bad taste in my mouth from day one. Why is a billion dollar company asking their fans to pay for the production costs of a toy up front? Why is it twice as much as it should cost for something like this? Why promise an "early bird" reward if you're going to be like "JUST KIDDING EVERYONE GETS HIM!" at the last minute? Every part of this was poorly done and is a massive fuck you to the fans. They don't care about you. They just want your money and will stab whoever they want to in the back to get it.
