Actually decent Star Trek toys for the first time ever. After the reveal a few months ago of the Playmates line that looked fucking awful, this is a really nice surprise.
You guys hoping for anyone else in subsequent waves? Praying for a Worf and a Barkley myself. Maybe if they're being as out there with the picks as they are with the Simpsons and Turtles lines, a Lwuxana.

More productive marketing and budgeting for consumers. Allows people who want just the core cast to budget better around releases and allows those who want every weird side character to get a toy to get everything. Also encourages fence sitters to dip their toes in on the weirdo side characters.
Though in this case, Locutus is the first release in basically every single wave of Trek toys ever, before Picard in most instances. I have a feeling whoever's in charge of these various lines or CBS themselves believe that "Resistance is futile" is more recognizable and iconic than Picard himself.

The thing about their stuff is its made to order. The benchmarks for success are extremely low. I believe they said there were only around 2000 orders for the thundertank. Compare that to the haslab ghost rider that needs 9000 to even get made.

Alright well now that we've confirmed who that is from the above schizophrenic meltdown, who do you guys want to see with subsequent waves? I fully expect the core cast of Worf, Troi, Crusher and Geordi to get made, but I'm still unsure of what they'd pack with everyone. Worf would obviously come with a knife and a bat'leth, but what the fuck do you pack Crusher with? All I can really think is a tricorder and the little scanner that comes with it.

That's exactly what I was thinking. There's so many different costumes they could sell him with, and there are already several judge versions. Could only be made better if it included a cigar hand specifically for Riker and Picard, because I'd buy it for that alone.

Look up WWE Tables on Amazon. They make a ton of cheap table and chair accessories that work with 7" figures (though the tables are designed to break apart, but that's an easy issue to solve).

I'll be honest, I'm not even a trekky, but them all seeming to come with card playing accessories is enough to make me want them. It's just a silly, yet welcome accessory and it would make for a really cool display.

I feel like a lot of Trek lines die because they have to make the bridge crew first but nobody wants a full bridge crew unless they have side characters like Moriarty, Klingons, and Q. Nobody really wants a Troi or Crusher or Geordi but they’ll pick them up to complete the set. On the other hand, people won’t buy Riker and Data on their own if they don’t know if Picard and Worf will be made, too.

They're making more. I'm fairly certain Super7 wouldn't pull a McFarlane and dick tease with only a couple figures and then produce nothing else. They already did a bunch of Re-Actions in the line, and should probably be viewed as a general idea of what to expect in Ultimates. We'll for sure get the main cast an a number of side characters. I think it's a given we get Q in the line at some point.

I just want this to last long enough for them to make a Ro Laren that doesn't look like a monkey.
Since this is made to order and a year away I wonder if they'll release new pre-order waves every six months to maintain interest and build confidence in the line. If they're doing batches of two with two bridge officers each that's at least four waves to get the big seven.
I really hope this line succeeds. The figures look amazing compared to other stuff that's been tried recently, I'm just really curious what they'll do differently to keep it alive.
I might go for the Locutus just to have him, but if they announced a decent Ro I'd probably drop the full $350 to get the rest of the bridge crew.

EXO-6 is making some decent looking 1/6 figures right now, which seem to include at least part of the DS9 cast. Also doing Voyager characters, so I can't see Dukat being out of the question. I'd go in on them if they confirmed what characters were planned, because I wouldn't want Sisko without at least Dukat. And I wouldn't buy any of the rest of the main cast without confirming all of them are there. Like I ain't gonna have a shelf with a conspicuous Quark shaped hole.
