>>10113780I'd probably pick up the bard and the rich dude on sale, they look like they'd be fun back ground civies in a fantasy display. THhe mage and the...I guess barbarian...are both fairly lame though.
>>10113798I'm hoping this case is something similar to what happened with the G.I. Joe Classified line. The Snake Eyes movie and initial game based figures were what got stores to stock the line in the first place. But after the movie bombed, and the few figures they made for it came and went, Hasbro just went nuts pumping out more classic versions of popular characters.
With any luck, they're just using the awful movie to get retailers interested in the franchise, but after the movie figures come and go, will continue the line using more classic characters and creatures. I mean, the animated figures are also being made, so it's clear they want to expand past the movie in some manner.
>>10113920Blame parents and focus groups who think kids only want toys of "the good guys".
>>10114036>>10114039They're kinda cute collectibles, but I agree they're a bit insulting in lieu of actual figures of these classic monsters. With any luck, there's a long term plan in place to start pumping out more monsters over time. Being an inhouse brand, Hasbro can take their time and not have to worry about Licensor approval and whatnot.
>>10114046>>10114281Wait, this is an actual figure? Not some tiny gimmicky transforming toy or static mini figure? If that thing has even basic articulation I'm grabbing it as soon as I see it. That's the perfect size to be a mount for any number of figures, and dragons so rarely get decently sized toys nowadays.
