Also, I have seen that subaru around here, but I thought it was a pegwarmer. Just a bunch of subarus and not a single different car from that series.

I have been going through the gargantuan task of organizing my collection from when I was a kid up to today, and it really throws me off to feel how dense many basic mainlines used to be. Not even rare or low volume ones, stuff that would have been pegwarmers back in the day.

That said, it doesn’t apply to everything. For example, pic related is shockingly cheap feeling. It’s weight is so insignificant it feels like one of those no name Chinese cars

Yes, I'm aware of the concept. But they usually have actual anime girls. This one has a somewhat anime like girl, kind of like Kreigers hologram wife from Archer. Just curious if it's suppose to actually look like this or the designer is parodying an anime girl.

Finally found some good shit in the stores, it's been empty pegs and shelves for weeks. Yes I did pay 3 down under bucks for each of the individual cars, not what I would spend that much on but apparently Myer here was the last one to have those cars in stock where elsewhere have either moved on to the next set or are empty.

Just got one of these badboys, used from the locals. I really love Giorgetto Giugiaro's car designs and was kinda undecided between this DMC12 by Sunstar and the Lotus Esprit but then went for the Deloran since the Esprit just seems to go into absolute retard scalping prices. The Delorean is also creeping up in prices but it was still alright. I also like the front more with the cool DMC logo. The headlights sadly are those dotted ones but then again it will be one of my projects to come up with a cool mod to fix that. The movie version with all the props attached has a soi-tax on it while the plain road version (the only version I wanted) is usually cheaper to have.
I also took a look at the DMC12 by Autoart but there is absolutely no fucking way I pay 250 to 300 for a damn scale car. It absolutely does have nicer proportions and incredibly fine detail but that step up is not worth the money at least for me. I rather have a variety of still nice models I really love than having only one or two with absolute autism levels of detail.

A cool thing the Sunstar DMC12 has over the Autoart one is that it is actually BRUSHED METAL and I think that's fucking cool. The Autoart absolutely does look like painted plastic which it is.

Pics from the net but I'm glad mine came in really nice condition. I've read that apparently many come kinda scuffed right from the factory while mine looks pristine. The one I got apparently is from one of the first runs in the 00s while most complaints I've read so far come from people who got one from the 2010s. Maybe they got sloppy in the production line in the later runs.

It really seems like the big scale fan community is scarily small so I am not surprised that there are barely any big scale modders on Youtube. Also, most people do Youtube in hope of drawing large crowds for ad revenue. Scale cars are too much of an autismo hobby to draw big crowds. To normalfags we're basically on the same level as stamp or butterfly collectors.

I would have loved to stay with 1/24 but really early in I realized what a fucking clusterfuck that scale (RANGE) is. It's absolutely disgusting how many jump between 1/20 / 1/24 / 1/25 / 1/26 / 1/28. Bburago is probably the worst offender

I think my Bburago Audi Quattro could be from 84 and some of my 190 could be from around that time too. Then I also have some Mercedes dealer only scale 1/35 models that are from that time frame. In general most of my models are from the 90s and 80s. Got most back when you could get them for next to nothing and I am so glad I have them.

nah, I just usually buy one or two a week while I'm out getting groceries... What I love about Hot WHeels / Matchbox is that its such an affordable, cheap hobby that you can collect something super specific that you like... Like I met this other dude in the aisle looking at hot wheels with me, and he only collects the sports cars (I think HW calls them the "factory fresh" line). So yea just a fun hobby to get into for it's ease of access

I'm honestly really into the reboot. I loved them back in the day and I love the new sets. I just wish they could spend a little more time on the actual cars. Would love to see more licesned cars and more detailed models, as currently the models they have are mostly fantasy models and very simplistic in details. I wonder if they will ever bring back working doors and hoods.

I love that Lexus, Matchbox really hits that "nobody asked, but is still really interesting" itch, like was 1994 a really good year? The Matchbox has me looking forward to every 1995 Toyota Hardbody release too, there's one coming up with a matching motorcycle hitch and a fedex truck

Yeah, i've never liked 1/64 all that much, but when i saw Kurtis Sportscar on the shelf i came. CAME A LOT and bought it instantly

Haven't bought too much lately, but I absolutely had to get this solid JL Beetle after re-reading Denny O'Neil's run on The Question and remembering he drove one kitted out with a Porsche engine and Ferrari transmission. JLU gave him a midnight blue GTO which was badass, but I really think having a suped-up shitbox suits his personality more.

Oh, I made this livery. Based off this particular Deora I owned.

There's a few more liveries, most of them aren't great. One of my favorites is the Olds 442 with one based off Starsky & Hutch's Gran Torino, and the S2000 themed after a Viper.

The Dragon Blaster is the most based thing i've driven in a game for a while but it does tip easier than others. (high risk high reward skill issue basically)

I looked up to buy one IRL but sadly can't find any online near me for reasonable prices.
It suddenly reminded me of having the Matchbox Rottwheeler as a kid and loving it, I wish i could find it. Rekindled my love for crazy animal/monster cars.

If you put the time in you can make pretty crazy shit. I usually put headlight/taillight details on stuff and give cars blacked out wheels just like my IRL used collection has.

Also in the matches I did online played some pretty sweet custom tracks that were really good and challenging making use of the Rush 2049ish aircontrol. (Boosting mid air will propell you forward, allowing you to change trajectory while flying to either save yourself or pull of crazy skips)

C4 is currently in its black sheep era. C3 is now being viewed as a proper classic despite much of that generation being dogshit and it still having god awful visibility. C4 are just now starting to come into popularity, so expect better diecast representation in a few years.

If you are interested in an IRL one, now is the time to buy. They are rock bottom. Just be sure to avoid 84 and 85, those are shit

Not that anon but unless it's a straight line I don't think track test matters at this point. There's a lot of cars in mainline, licensed or not that can't go through loops because of the front diffuser being low that there's not enough clearance.

Is it just me, or do modern hotwheels have an issue with their axels rusting? I've never seen it this bad before. Did they go to a cheaper metal or something? I have some cars from the early 2000's and their fine, but it seems to me any car newer than 2010 ish will have extremely rusted axel pins and won't roll as nicely as it should within about a week or two of opening it.

They have definitely cut corners on metal quality, but if you have cars rusting in a few weeks that’s a problem on your end. The only way axles rust is if they are exposed to the elements. Are you in some kind of tropical island climate with 95% humidity or something? If not, wherever you are storing the cars must hold moisture

Question, do some Hot Wheels Cars (especially the premium) usually have problems with the wheels rubbing the wheels arches or is it just me? I have a Lancia Stratos Group B and a Nissan Proto Z where the rear wheel have some very low clearances and likes to rub on the wheel arches if I so much as look at it. I know they're premium and are meant for display but I like rolling my cars from time to time and it's bugging me.

Yeah it's most probably the casting. Here's the Lancia Stratos Group B and Nissan Z I mentioned, excuse the specks of dust on the Lancia. The rear wheel on the Lancia is just perilously close to that wheel arch and if I move it I can feel it dragging on the arch which worries me. And as for the Nissan, from the POV of pic-related the rear wheel likes to catch on the wheel arch to it's left. I can just tell from rolling it forward that it's touching the wheel arch there. No clearance at all for the rear wheels here and it bugs me.
