Why hasn't Plarail gotten a good international line yet? They look so much better than any other train toyline in terms of durability, play value, prototypical modeling, and cost.

What do you mean by "international line"? Their range has been widely available all over Asia for quite a few decades now, though less so in the West. Or do you mean toys of non-japanese rolling stock?

I wish I took better care of my Thomas Plarail stuff. Just about all of it is missing and what's left in buried somewhere in my Dad's garage.

The latter. Plarail has tried doing special international runs in the past, I remember there being an Amtrak train sold at one point or another.

They still make Hong Kong MTR sets. Guess it depends on the market and the train culture there.
