I can probably understand for big ticket items they still are but for stuff like Figma/Figuarts/Mafex etc? Nah, not really. Usually you can find them on places like Mandarake and Yahoo Auctions Japan for close to what they were or even cheaper if it's some Otaku who couldn't cancel and is selling at a loss to get rid of it asap. Even Premium Bandai exclusives aren't that hard to find nowadays in places like those.
