Pix Party also replaces the "Play" section, the two games on the normal Pix being "Hula Hoop" and the "Matching" game, with the "Party" section.
With "Party" you are able to throw a party where you can either cook, take photos, or play three party-themed games with three Tama friends and/or NPCs.
There are new party-themed items and foods as well.
I would say the Pix Party is an improvement overall. However, it's been said that the touch-pad doesn't work as well on the Pix Party as it does on the Blue or Green Pix, similar to the wave 1 touch-pad issues (Pink and Purple). I have the Pix Party Confetti only, so I don't know if this is true or not, but I can say that the touch-pads do not work well for me and makes some of the mini-games frustrating. Your mileage may vary.
