Maybe the confusion comes from what people here consider "popular". Fans of Gurren laggan like kamina more. Yoko probably isn't even in the top 5 best characters in the show. But that literally couldn't be less relevant for trying to make figures that will sell the best.

Oh, they do combine, Just noticed gurren's shoulder pylons extend, also looks like the top of his head goes inside his body to reveal GL's neck.

The pylons extending is interesting since the riobot one doesn't do this (or doesn't look like) but of course that achieves a more seamless look.

I think I'm sticking with riobot, the chogokin looks fine, but not quite there, but who knows maybe once I see more pictures and have a price tag I could be swayed.

I have the original Riobot GL so the plaiobot doesn't appeal to me, but I mean, how much do you value a transforming/combining GL against a cool alternate design ? seems like that easily can at least remove one from the pile.

I think that's it for promotional shots.
Altogether a good looking figure, but I think it's a bit too pricy to be worth it for regular collectors. Kamina fans might eat it up, though. (as I will.)

Yeah, I'll concede that much.
Rengoku was the only BUZZmod I was considering buying for the Demon Slayer line exactly because he was the only one without soft goods and I didn't expect a Figma of him anyway. Turns out we got a Figma of it anyway, so I ended up with the Figma instead.
In hindsight, I wish I had ordered BUZZmod Inosuke.

Has your domestic store ever had the bonuses included?
If not, I'd go with one of the two I mentioned. I went with Nin-Nin Game because I've ordered a lot of exclusives from them recently and haven't had a single issue.

I mean, I do that with all my figures as well. I take them out of the package, pose them usually once, then put them in a cabinet for months until I find the energy/motivation to repose them.
Still, I can't bring myself to buy statues. I love figures and I'll keep buying them, even if that seems contradictory.

I'm the same way, though I don't have such a hardliners stance on statues since unfornately they're the only merch a character I like has.
I think what's important is enjoying your toys the way you like, some people like reposing them all the time while others like to hold a pose for awhile before changing, all ways are valid.

I'd wager that Kamina's cloak having the connecting bits in front help keep it up, whereas Rengoku's kind of just floats. There is a 3rd party cloth cape someone made that's okay, but you do have to fuck with it a bit to get it to stay.
