Is this supposed to be indecipherable or am I just a retard? Are there easier instructions/methods online. The illustrations are so vague and hard to make out.

Bro, you just bend the metal so it fits. It's not rocket science. You should be able to build these even without pictures at all, just knowing what parts you need.

But the paint keeps scraping off and pieces bend in the wrong way. I had to cut a piece that didn’t even say it needed to be cut and now it is all mangled. Cmon I went from legos to this.

Should I just cut out all the pieces first?

they're not difficult, I've done a few of the more complicated ones you just need patience and dexterity. I think there are youtube assembly vids but the instructions should be pretty straight forward.
