>>10155710>>10155743Prototypes are like custom painted figures except way more fragile. They're usually made of resin, held together with glue, and hand painted. They're brittle and the paint can't take any abuse. They don't even seal the paint in with varnish because if something goes wrong, being unsealed makes the paint easier to touch up.
Unfortunately, stuff very frequently goes wrong when shipping these things around for shows, and the person who made the prototype is probably a thousand miles away and the show staff are not qualified to do anything more than the most basic of repairs, like sticking a figure back together with blue tac when it falls apart in the middle.
