Still convinced this movie will perform worse than any TF movie before it. Hope that's the case at least, so we can stop being tortured with these shit films and moreso the infuriating zoomers and the oldest millennials trying to rehabilitate the movies. Been awhile since I've seen a movie delayed this fucking long and it feels real indicative of massive reworks and problems.
That and I have zero fucking interest whatsoever in the toys from what we've seen of the designs so far. That new Airrazor looks fine from an engineering standpoint, but half-assed "animal but with robot parts so u knoe its a robot" is such a fucking awful aesthetic.

I think it could do better than Bumblebee. I also like the designs that have been revealed so far. That said, I think it's time to retire the film franchise. This is the 3rd or 4th time a Hasbro film has been delayed and it's never a good sign. Frankly, the money spent on these would be better spent on developing actually good cartoons or video games.

Its not like Hasbro is actually putting up the money at Paramount to make them, the money put into them is only going into the toys, a lot of which gets paid out by the studio licensing anyway. . The movies probably make more money for Hasbro than any of the recent cartoons have since RID 15.

bumblebee was well received but suffered the same fate as any movie that came after a string of stinkers. Movies always ride on the response to the movie before them in a series. The last Star Trek movie suffered the same fate, and Star Wars Rise of Skywalker failed from reception to The Last Jedi.

This one might do better than Bumblebee because people see the movies on an upswing after that one, only to suffer a precipitous drop after people find out it's more Bayshit

The last figure I bought was Crankcase. Last one before that was Tigatron. Tigatron has yellowed more than some toys from the 90s I own, and Crankcase is a floppy mess. I have Star Saber coming soon and I am honestly kind of worried that if he's mediocre, it might just push me out entirely. There's fucking nothing on the horizon now that I've finished my S1 BW crew, unless they decide to reveal a Monstructor/Dino-King, which I can only assume would be awful at this point.
The budget and quality cuts have just been too much and I'm worried I'm going to get burned again. It fucking sucks, man.

Siege was great engineering and good budget held back by retarded paint apps and bad alt modes. ER was the same thing but with lazy engineering and good paint. Kingdom waves 1 and 2 were some of the best Transformers we've ever had. Wave 3 onwards and Legacy, especially the last wave, have had some of the worst QC, worst paint, and worst budget cuts since FoC. I'd actually argue at this point that it's worse than FoC, because FoC wasn't in the middle of the worst economy most of us have lived through, making wanting to buy mediocre toys a daunting offer.
I now look at every white toy coming out and wonder if it's going to yellow. Will I get it with joints that are weak as shit? Is the clear plastic riddled throughout going to crack? Hell with the current wave, we now have to ask, will that purple figure go yellow? Will the fucking solid grey plastic snap and stress and crack?

I assume it has to be a quality cut simply because they fixed that issue in the mid-90s. Yellowing just didn't happen for decades, save one or two extreme outliers. Same as GPS. It's something that just went away and suddenly is back when they're making numerous other awful budget cuts while raising prices.

The deluxes also weren't 25+ fucking dollars. Bruticus was a piece of shit but figures like Shockwave are fine. Not to mention as bad as those figs were, they didn't have breakage, stress, yellowing and paint issues and weren't brought to us with a new wave of price hikes.

Fuck man, it's horrible looking. At this rate I'm kinda thinking I should just seek out a customizer to recreate Botcon Antagony. It's not even too hard of a deco, there are no translucent parts to worry about like with Inferno, it seems to just be a gloss black. The hardest part will be getting the lavender plastic to look right, paint won't quite get you there. I may need to look into recasting those parts in a lavender plastic. But it's still gonna be way cheaper than a real Antagony, and definitely better than this shit-ass new mold.

Well that and the catastrophic damage, Ratchet got plugged in the chest like nine times, Ironhide's head was blown off, Brawn just sorta fell over and played dead, Prowl got lit on fire internally and died belching smoke. Depends on the toy/ toy part, filament printers can't do much detail and they don't print as smooth, but those can do BIG parts, for minifigures and parts that need detail you have to use resin printers, both types got a lot cheaper and easier to use on the past 2 years.

i'm with you, but I also doubt they'll be allowed to be dwarfed in action scenes. My guess is they'll all be about twice the size they should be. So Primal, who would otherwise be like 7 feet tall, will be 14ish and around Bumblebee's size

then again, it might work on movie-dinobot rules, meaning they're as much bigger than normal autobots as the animals would be bigger than humans.

my point was he LOOKS small. he has a small look about him. looks cheap, simplified, compromised. deluxes with arthropod altmodes have better leg flexibility than this thing. and their attempt at show-accuracy seems to have stopped at the head and shins.

this thing has like, randomly drawn jagged lines for legs. and going by pictures from that helpful anon, 1.75 legs on each side of his body are removable, so even china can't save us this time.. unless maybe his entire arms could come off, and the ant legs with 'em. then they could give us completely new arms.

What really bothers me is the booster-as-a-weapon bullshit. Not only you're forced to choose between an accurate flying mode or him having a weapon, but doing it like that leaves us without his classic mandible flamethrower and also fucks up what made the chest shape more interesting than just a round ant head. And that last part can't be fixed with a third party flamethrower.

Miss those times bros.

Titans Return and Power of the Primes were the most fun i had with transformers because it was neverending ride of cheap and free toys.

This will sound weird but before saying a figure failed to improve I consider its proportions and engineering before going to how good it actually is as a material object.
T30 Waspinator wasn't that good when it first came out and I remember a lot of people hating it for all the weird shit it did that ended up with it having bad proportions; give the Kingdomgacy Waspinator the T30's plastic and it's a superior in most fronts save for the shin sculpt and lack of an actual weapon.

Same for Legacy Starscream. If it had T30 Starscream's plastic, which was bootleg tier compared to what we got before FOC, it would be a great toy where T30 was an eh toy even with the cool storable swords.

Nah. Tarantulus was the only slam-dunk and Override was decent (if you count the Velocitron wave as being part of Legacy and not it's own thing). Jihaxus was okay, but his alt mode feels very incomplete. The two Core Pretenders were also superior to their originals, though YMMV.

Lucked out and managed to find an Inferno at a store super close by today. He feels decently sized, which is nice, and I dig the detail on his ant mode a lot. I get a lot of the complaints about his ant legs now though, but I feel like the only reason they’re not more mobile is because they need to be stiff to support his weight or something.

You can blame the sudden cancelation of IDW on that (as well as bad writing). Shame, since his 300-something page fanfic work was pretty good. Even the glimpse of Star Saber we got in that universe was more compelling than IDW's however.

Star Saber's appearance in Secrets and Lies was so pointless, I assume someone at IDW wanted their books to have at least one version of the character close to the original, to make up for how they originally mishandled him.
Even Furman's commentary on why he added the character to his Marvel prequel wasn't very convincing.

The thing is, he had nothing in common with the actual Star Saber. He had a different personality, different goals, different history, he didn't even have the cool transformation scheme. The only thing "Star Saber" about him was that he looked like Star Saber, and at that point why was he Star Saber in the first place? He could have been an entirely different character and nothing would have changed about him. And when you add that to the fact that he's a character the original Star Saber would have been horribly ashamed of sharing an identity with, it comes across as not only pointless, but insulting.

Which I just do not see working out well.
Unless it'd be just a jazzed up version of Cybertron Primus, I think Primus' portrayal is just to nebulous for a whole general audience to agree on.

I should bring up that the peg holes and pegs for the new guns are awful. I pretty much had to sand down all the pegs. Some of the peg holes are too small to do any shaving since it's too thin, like Ratchet's medical gun thing.

Since I don't have him I'll ask; were the tolerances on Astrotrain super shitty too?
Like, every single hinge on this toy just refused to move. Some decided they'd rather pop off than turn.

Also I got two of the same gun, the ones in the shoulders are both right guns.

Does anyone else have a Damaged foot joint in their Kingdom Sideswipe? I think they sprayed too much white paint on the foot, which caused the black plastic of the ankle to bend and become misaligned where the foot and ankle connect. I’m also kinda worried that it’ll just break eventually unless I try and scratch the paint off myself.

The wasp is Buzzsaw from the old BW toyline.
