I used to own the set and gave it away to a buddy for one of his custom projects. Goldbug was easily the only good bot in the set and that says a lot because like you said, it's already CHUG tier. The combiner itself also looks and functions a bit like if he's Menasor's even more retarded brother.

Weirdly I don't mind the alt mode as a completely utilitarian sci-fi thing...like you can see it as a jumble of robot limbs if that's what you want to see, but it has enough of a "style" to it that it works for me. The clear windshield goes a long way towards making it passable.

I had the Zeta Toys Mini-Superion for 1 day and I fucking hated the copy I had:
1. The gun's tab was too wide for the insertion for the hand.
2. So many loose tabs on Silverbolt and his head pops off immediately.
3. Firelight's plane tail has transformation clearance issues.
4. So much unremoved flashing from when they produced the parts. This created so many issues.
5. I had so many issues from Silverbolt and Firelight, I didn't bother with transforming the other three to their robot modes.

I fucking hated my set so much, I sold it as soon as I can.

Ask yourself what the engineer/designer is asked to achieve then analyse how close the result is. MP-44 is a good example since lots of people use the backpack as an excuse to say alternatives have better engineering while they completely omit the fact MP-44 HAD to include a soundbox (the decision was stupid, I'm not saying the opposite, but that's not up to the engineer, that's an imperative he had to work with). The better the figures are, the harder it is to judge but right now the differences are still pretty huge at least from an engineer standpoint.

Giving Hastak Megs a voiceclip was fine because they shoved it into a barrel, but they clearly didn't think far ahead because they had to stuff it into Optimus' back. Which of course could have been fixed with the Nemesis mold but they did jack shit in compressing it compared to the recent MP-44 KO molds.
You're completely hand-waving the greatest issue of MP-44 because Takara accidentally cucked themselves to begin with when nobody was expecting sounds.

It's fine. Feels solid, good articulation, etc. I find the transformation a bit fiddly for my tastes with some of the panels, but it's otherwise a good figure, if pricey. Keep in mind it's meant to go with small space marine-like figures, and the vehicle mode has a cockpit for such, but it doesn't come with any itself.

Yeah I’m not sure if I’m in on this guy. The accessories are lacking and I’ve seen zero mention of the full helmet head. Especially feels dubious that it has functionality with the fucking Magnus armor too.

Strongly advise against it, silverbolt jetpack is a mess it always untab and never stays on. Upon the first transformation I started to see chips of paint on the table so yeah that pretty metalic paint wont stay on for long. Then after having them in bot mode for a while I switched them to Superion, again Silverbolt's backpack is still a floppy mess, the extra piece for the torso doesn't stay on (despite the dedicated torso) and falls at the minimal movement, silverbolt's gun doesn't tab correctly in Superion's gun so it moves around inside it and after moving the arms around a bit the piece that holds fireflight's tail started to untab, when I tried to tab it again carefully since for some reason they decided to shove metal in the legs and torso instead of these tiny frail pieces, the connector broke and the piece went from fully red to fully white since all the paint came off.

So now my Superion is there with a missing shoulder part after transforming it once from aircraft to bots and bots to Superion a single time, had a messed around with it half of the time as I did with the Pocket Toys Bruticus by this time I would have a Superion with no parts of the airplanes in the legs, arms and back.

I recomend that you avoid it and wait for a NA or MS

These are all good ones, and I can agree on them. Though I'll say it's so strange with Acoustic Wave and Chomp coming out so close to each other, but the former having these weird new round fingers, compared to the rectangular ones all the others have had before it.

Recently got XTB Caravaggio in myself, and he seems pretty good so far. Just need to flip him back and forth a couple more times to get a real feel for him.

I love that figure. Probably my favorite FT release since Grinder. I really like that you can mistransform him a bit to make him more like the G1 too, of you feel like switching things up.

Biggest complaint about him is his front gator feet fucking LOVE to unscrew themselves as you move them. Does anybody know a fix for that?

Neat. I've always liked IDW Prime's design but so far, I've found both options on the market pretty lacking. GT's approachable transformation was nice but it's design was kind of bulky and boxy. The other option (GCreation I think?) Was more accurate but had a nightmare transformation and also looked a bit stiff. Both options really lacked the dynamicism of the IDW designs on the page, which is fair enough because it can't be easy to translate that to a physical figure that also has to transform. More and more companies seem to be working better and better engineering magic these days though and thus company appears to know how to pull that off if their Drift is anything to go by. Silhouette on this looks promising so as long as this company uses good plastic and the transformation isn't absolute hell, this could be really cool.

He is good, only a few parts don't snap in like the feet and some rear parts on the car in alt mode but solid figure and weighs good. I would be careful with the feet as they are on a hinge and swivel that you have to rotate and slightly pry around some parts for robot mode, but other than that I marvel at the sheer number of swivel and ball joints this thing has

Transart Ratboy came in today. Beast mode transformation is a bit fiddly, but overall its probably their best release so far. Feels good to complete the Season 2 Maximal Transmetals, but really hope we get a Silverbolt. the upsized Kingdom Rhinox looks promising.

Not the right thread but it really depends on if you want a more or less Marvel Legends tier articulated non-transforming figure. I'm not trying to say that to deter you. Just stating a fact. I can't recall how much they go for but I recall them being a bit pricy for my tastes but they otherwise seem fine for what they are so if you're willing to pay that price, go for it.

They're alright, In most cases I think you're better off with a mainline version of the character (tl Optimus Megatron and Soundwave are shit) but Shockwave seems like one of the good ones.

Terrorsaur and Waspinator just weren't cool enough characters to get upgraded, "Scavenger" was less imposing than Inferno and lacked flamethrowers, Rhinox was worse as a Transmetal. Airazor was probably the only real loss.
Still, I don't see how Transmetal Megatron, Cheetor, Rattrap, and Tarantulas weren't cool, equal or better to their Season 1 forms. Optimus is the only real downgrade.

I don't own Prowl personally but I do have Prime. The plastic quality is fine, the problem people have with the figure is that it is a very complex and fiddly transformation with very specific clearances that can put stress on thin parts if you're not careful.

It's not something I'd recommend to someone with ham hands or someone that doesn't have the patience for crazy transformations. The robot mode is pretty great once it's together and mine has survived a good few transformations unscathed, but there are less beastly IDW primes out there. I think Generation Toy OP EX is a better one if you can find it.

I got prowl because his IDW troncar appearance is one of my absolute favorite designs, but yeah, the transformation is a goddamn nightmare. Extremely frustrating, and a lot of pieces got visible stressmarks pretty much instantly. I've basically done it once and left him in robot mode since, which sucks because I love how both of them look. Also, at least on the first run, the right shoulder is EXTREMELY tight, and it's a rivet or some such nonsense, so you can't really oil it or anything. All that said, I still kind of like him because he looks right and the posability is great. I love the thing they did with the hip skirts.

Love it, i especially like what they did with the truck wheels, giving you a lot of options to pose em how you want.

But a bit bummed that unlike the other 2 UT guys FH has put out, this one didnt have any firing missiles. And just the one light in the chest, nothing in the gun.

But it does look real good, and the trailer makes for additional display space when not needed.

I don't think there was anyway to not give him a giant backpack. The Transformation does feel needlessly complex, but still impressed that they went from basically doing modified imitations of the originals to wholly new designs.

Agree to disagree on that one. MT looked ok at the time but seeing the two side by side, MT's head is way too tiny, the hands are huge, the shoulders are too high, and the crotch is proportionally massive. Also, MT's use of fake parts to extend the wheel wells on the legs has always looked bad and was super unnecessary when most other Jazz figures accomplish the same thing by just having the wheel wells rotate forward a bit. The only things I really dislike about FT's offering are it being a toon deco instead of toy (which MT did as well so it's a moot point) and the arm articulation is typical FT not putting double joints in for no fucking reason. Still, in the looks department, it blows MT out of the fucking water.

It was a no-brainer to replace Badcube's Hoist and Warpath with FT's. I think the same is going to hold true for FT vs XTB Cliffjumper. Downbeat's just different.

But all the GB KO sets gave me issues swapping the purple bits. NBK Long Haul's chest is clipped together, the force needed to open it is only slightly less than would break the tabs. JinJiang has Scrapper's scoop pinned in, I had to heat the plastic to get the pins dislodged. But the swap makes both look better.

I don't know if Jinbao is even around still.

I kept Badcube's Warpath because I prefer the chunky proportions. Yeah it's not animation accurate, but I think Badcube's just looks better. Not sure how many more transformations his arms will last though, those screws weren't made to last.

There's definitely a market for it, FH's Power Baser doesn't really match any MP aesthetics but FansHobby, Masterforce has fans and this looks much closer to Ginrai than FH.

What do you mean? APC toys' are KOs too, other than their Airachnid. Difference is that the APC KOs are often modified and scaled up to fit their own scale. This AC01 KO is identical to the original FE in size, with that old 3P addon kit included.

I don't feel the need to ever purchase anything like Lewin Prime ever again but the original is one of my favorite things I've ever bought. Articulated fingers. Though the thing would honestly be a massive disappointment at that scale without them so that was probably a given. The gun also does away with the spring folding gimmick and just folds, which is kind of an improvement since it makes it feel way less floppy. Otherwise, it really is just a giant MP-10.
