My biggest gripe with the new Classified line is the box art not being in the same style and just a mish mash of instagram contracted fan artist.

Yeah, they could do something way more interesting. At least put the figures in the current wave, the previous wave, and the next wave, or something. As it is, its either a Marvel-esque movie looking poster, or on the Target exclusives its a shot of a bunch of empty jungle foliage. Like, wow.

Idk, I think the movie poster is a good idea even if the individual box art is really inconsistent to be polite. The target backs just outright stink and do NOTHING to stimulate my imagination or get me excited. Just pack in a small catalog or something with a link for bio cards, do something to get me excited rather ran just relying on my nostalgia. Kids will never buy a classified figure since they know nothing of the property and the packaging does fuck all to help you get into it. Power rangers lightning collection is the same way.

3? I think the standard is more like 5 languages per package now. Sadly this is the reason why companies never do anything fun with the back of the packages anymore. By having one package that has all the major languages on it that gets sent to most of the world, they save a LOT of money but having a single package, and the sole boring render that's usually on the back of most boxes now costs nothing to produce whereas creating art, a bio, a comic strip or anything like that requires a lot more resources and $$

I think at least a couple are professional comic artists. Bartel did the box for movie Baroness and does a lot of shit for Marvel. But yeah the mismatched art is really hit and miss.

As an artist, I think it's a neat idea and I appreciate that they are giving a lot of good artists a cool opportunity, but Classified is the wrong line to do it in. It would work better for something like Marvel Legends I think. They should just stick to the one style that was used for the back of the box and portraits for the website because the consistent artwork of the characters on the packaging has always been an iconic part of Joe toy lines. Save the alternative artwork for special editions like the deluxe Snake Eyes if you want to branch it out but it shouldn't be part of the mainline.

Still have to go with Arkus because his insane origin story combined with the alien aesthetics made this one of my favorite childhood toys.
The Blackstar "try me" cardback is a close second.

Artwise probably Mighty Max and vintage MotU.
