You have the key and cupboard from the novel/film The Indian in the Cupboard

No.10180147 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
After placing a toy, model, figure, or sculpture of any kind into the cupboard and closing the door, you insert the key into the lock and twist. When you open the door once again, your inanimate object will be alive!

The rules are:
>The toy(s) must reasonably fit within pic related
>The toy(s) you animate will remain at their toy size - converted to living flesh, clothing, or whatever material the original character was made out of
>The toy(s) will be completely sentient and alive, with their own thoughts and emotions (Unless it is a toy of a non-sentient object like a weapon, vehicle, or prop)
>They will retain their canon personality and abilities, along with any memories they have of their non-toy lives up to that point - including relationships and enemies
>Whatever accessories they had on them will be recreated at that scale as well (Plastic turns into wood, steel, fictional material, etc.)
>If they are not from a work of fiction, they will assume they are a real individual from whatever era the toy represents (i.e. Little Bear, an Iroquois Chief, and Tommy Atkins, a WWII English army medic, from the book and movie)
>Construction/creative materials such as Play-Doh, Lego, or Meccano will become whatever the creator meant them to be when constructing them
>Blank slate/custom toy characters (Lego minifigures, custom-painted miniatures, wooden mannequins) will become whatever the creator imagined for them

Whenever you choose to reverse the process, they become a toy again and their consciousness returns to wherever it belongs.
