>>10223881It's been a dilemma for me because the Rothco is supposedly what they used in Afterlife, but I've heard they're not the sturdiest, and some horror stories of them snapping on people is pretty terrifying.
The other popular option is the Fox Outdoor frame, which I've seen conflicting information claim is both sturdier and flimsier than the Rothco. A potential issue with the Fox frame is it's not guaranteed to have the holes at the bottom needed to mount the pack.
GBFans offers a frame which is said to sturdier, but it doesn't include straps, the shipping is expensive, and there is a 2 month leadtime.
A genuine vintage LC1 seems to be the best option, but finding one for a reasonable price (especially now) and in good condition can be tricky.
Ultimately the risk of having a $500 pack get destroyed because I used a cheap reproduction which breaks isn't worth it to me, so I think I can rule out the Rothco and Fox. I don't know anons... what are you all going to do?
