I mean, it's one thing to not know who the character is, but they're literally sculpting everything that is molded. Even pegs and revoltech joints are being sculpted on McFarlane figures now. Maybe only the generic bits and bobs aren't sculpted by them, like the barbell joints.
See pic? Those plain discs and ball joints? This is a Hasbro sculptor knowing what he's not involved in, whereas everything else he literally sculpted, including the torso going from sculpted to smooth. You can see how all he sculpted is affecting the range of motion from those joints.
So they're very much involved whether you want to believe it or not, and the fact is, sculpt is much more important and they're not making as many concessions as eastern lines do. It's a very conscious decision, where we even see indie companies going from preferring range of motion to more detailed sculpt, because that's what's in demand.
