>>10187833I'm not into them personally, but I can understand the attraction on multiple levels. Firstly, they are an active prop for ventriloquists. Bad example, but they are like rubber chickens, a gag, a joke, a comedy prop. Secondly, they depict a different time in history and whether one collects antiques or MOTU figures, it is in many ways about connecting to a different time. There was a time in America when ventriloquist dummies had their own tv shows and were household names, some of the kids that grew up with them are older collectors now. I hope this helps.
