Honestly never understood why someone would name their ship Slave in the first place. I know Star Wars likes the villains having evilbad names all the time, but this was a dumb one.

Maybe if Jango was a slave growing up and his designation was Slave-1 and this was his whole remember where you come from, kind of thing.

Is this some joke I'm missing? The name comes from Bob Falfa the character Harrison Ford plays in Lucas's American Graffiti. Random trivia: Fett's original real name was Jaster Mereel from the expanded universe in the 90s and Boba Fett was an alias. George wanted to do his own thing when writting the PT and at one point he considered making Boba Fett the younger brother of Anakin Skywalker thus Luke and Leia's uncle. Someone on his team joked that be too many coincidences so he then went with the clone angle.

I never got why the guy had to be some member of a super dooper special huge faction of armored space vikings that had thousands of years of history etc etc. Why couldn't Boba just be a guy in a cool suit? There should be lots and lots of guys roaming around in cool suits because it's a big galaxy and space shit has been common for centuries. Dengar's armor wasn't that bad either, he just needed a helmet.

Everyone in Star Wars turned into a representative of a whole species or planet. All Hutts are gangsters, all Rhodians and Trandoshans are bounty hunters, all Twileks are slaves, it just goes on like that.

That's just what Jango Fett is in cannon, he is a loner. They just added some back story in the comics and books. It's really up in the air in the new cannon if we are being honest. Boba is also a middle ground as well, not connect to the Mandos
