Every year on Good Friday I would go to stay with my Grandparents and watch a marbles tournament that takes place on the town square. All the local pubs had teams and they would all wear fancy dress. At the end they would throw thousands of marbles onto a cobblestone circle and all the kids would scramble to collect as many as they could.
