My comic book shop was trying to sell three of him each for $45.99 and ToysRus was sell him for like $47.99 so I now completely believe in theft

Less than $5 mark-up=\= scalping, especially when op links an available cheaper alternative.
Also, $45 is likely the MSRP, and the shop NEEDS to add an extra buck to cover their overhead, and Amazon is capable of taking a smaller profit per fig because they have the quantity to make up for it.

Ah okay, that's on me for being a dumbass and jumping to conclusions. I saw a marvel legends fig and assumed it was supposed to be $20 or so like all the other ML shit.

In my defense, my LCS actually had a habit of massively marking up anything that got popular enough. I'm talking ~10x markup on last ronin issue 1 a week or so after release.
