You are a great example of why the doll thing happened, the people making the doll are likely not liberals, but they want to sell her to them, so they imagine that to them "sexy costumes are bad", and do this, and now there is backlash against it., because they dont mind that.
I will give you an example of the opposite, that little anime girl that turned them crazy fir akmost a year, that had gigant breast, she didnt really dress sexy, she used an oversized shirt in most of the art. But they still complained about it, because of her gigantic boobs. Hell, I havent read this, but I'm almost 90% sure, that this case adressed a complain by them about the girl being underage, since she was 20 or something like that.
