Hey i'm looking for some information and was hoping /toy/ could help.
Does anyone remember a BoA release of keybots?
I just found these on ebay and i've never heard or seen these releases ever. I know keybots got chinese, japanese and other asian releases but this is the first time i've seen any hint of a BoA release.

I've never heard of these before but they seem pretty cool. I know a real metal key-sword accessory would have seemed very significant and important to me as a kid, haha.

Well i knew about them because of commercials on youtube but this is the first hint i've seen of a release outside of asia.
Maybe it was only a small test market?

these boxes are pure soul. and there's just no way these were released stateside as 2004 was the year I really started collecting. I sadly would discover these like a decade later when the aftermarket/ebay got pricier. There's also an anon here who has a double complete collection

Here's how they are now. It was getting to be too much to keep up with dusting all the time. I have doubles of most of the line. The doubles are in storage.

I know Hasbro does that sometimes. We got limited G2 toy test runs.
Its possible Bandai of america put out a small amount in california.
Also I think it would've been in 2006 since the packages states copyright 2006 at the end.
Its just I can't find any information on this and now when you google keybot you get some nft scam shit too.
Its very muddled.
I wish I could find someone that worked at BoA in the 2000s to ask but that seems likes its impossible.
The big issue is that the way back archives for BoA are fucked too because for a few years BoA website was all flashed based which is impossible to view now.

It was at the tail end of 2006 on the wayback archive that switched over to flash when I was checking it.
But I don't even know if they would've announced it on their website if it was a limited test run.
I honestly have no clue.
It could be a release from Asia territories that have English speaking populations too.
The English keybot commercials were from Singapore apparently.
Maybe its from the Singapore release but when I google the results I just get picture of the same packages as the japanese release.

I don't remember Singapore having blister releases like OP's. They were boxed like the rest of the Asian releases i think. Usually BoA's Asian releases (Power Rangers and Ben10) would also list Bandai HK as a distro with a sticker, but >>10235473 only mentions their California office.

They all look amazing, the design appeals to me so much but it's sad that it's not really common in other toys. But the fact that they're all 5poa shit is still a deterrent. I still want picrel though

I experienced this once with the Rave Master toys. A source keeps saying it was cancelled, but I found a whole bunch of them at a Grocery Outlet in San Diego once. Sadly, I have no proof, and they were worthless on ebay.

Not to derail the thread, but I bought Mugenbine like a madman. I have 3-4 of each one. Airleon I have at least 10 of. They were super cheap towards the end of their run and I just kept buying them. The funny thing is to this day I've only had 1 clip break on one of them. They were really well made.

Well, the whole point of Mugenbine is that it's a build system where the pieces can be configured into a bunch of different things, like cars or planes or even animals. As such, a lot of pieces pull double or triple duty for what they can resemble. A set of hands might also be made to look like animal feet from another angle, or a smokestack can also be an arm or gun barrel. Most articulation is also based entirely on the connection joints, so you're never going to get something super articulated. Again, it's a build system, not a line of action figures that happen to combine.
