Found Howard at a local Target that had it with the mini Disney Store inside. Very weird place to find him at.

He's pretty cool, shame about the lack of articulation and the random Ant Man head is also weird, but you can probably put anything under the "glass" since its a separate piece to the head/base.

That's kind of what the bullet points are for. To be fair I didn't realize the new Konshu wave was trickling out just yet, I literally just saw it a half hour ago at Target. If I had realized it was out I would've made a bullet point. I try to keep them updated as much as I can but sometimes other people make the OP and just copy and paste the previous OP info.

I'm not sure I would call it getting "priced out", more than the offerings aren't what I'm willing to spend the money on. In the past, it wasn't such a big deal to buy a figure to complete a BAF. Now, the pricing is making me look closer at what I'm buying, and more and more I'm just saying "meh". I don't read modern comics, and sales data indicates most don't, so why the fuck should I care about Franklin & Valeria in their modern looks?

I just....don't care any more. I already have more ML than I have space to display them. I'll pick up ones I like here and there, but I'm done getting gouged by Hasbro. We're STILL waiting on team-completer's like Feral, Wolfsbane, etc, and they want to start another new subset with StarJammers. Why should I buy a full wave of mostly figures I don't want to build a character that will very likely never get his full team? I have no faith in Hasbro any more. I've read several StarJammer's stories, and none of them were compelling enough to get me to go drop a few hundred bucks on plastic tokens of them. But if prices weren't getting so ridiculous I wouldn't have hesitated. Weird, I know.

Absolutely. I loved pre-ordering by the case years ago, even with a 2x/case figure I didn't need. At $25, I'm more bothered by The Orb's non-round head than I would have been at a cheaper price. I like the novelty of the character as both a classic GR villain and a never before made in any line figure, but the increase price just makes the substandard execution more noticeable. I'm still debating customizing a fully rounded head for him, but at $25, I'll wait for the inevitable Amazon sale price.

Yeah, that's affecting me too. I'm happy for everyone to get what they want, but dropping hundreds of dollars on characters I don't really know or care for is hard. I love army building and collecting, and at cheap prices its never an issue. But for characters created during that 90's era, after the mass exodus of artists that went on to form Image, the Marvel books had art that was so hideous I stopped reading the bulk of their books. Random, Chamber, Monet, etc, were from an era where I just couldn't stand the artwork, so I'm just not familiar much with their characters, BUT, here's the funny part, I bought so many of them back in the day at 3 for $10 at KB toys when Toy Biz were making some ugly figures pre-ML days. They were toys and they were cheap.

Bottom line: money wasted on stuff I don't like is expensive enough that it doesn't take much to literally fund a Galactus or Sentinel. Prices have gotten to the point where if you were to set aside the cash saved on every figure skipped, you could literally fund the BIG purchases easily. And I'm still buying stuff like Hot Toys.

Like I opted for the SHF NWH figures because they just seemed more worth the price compred to Hasbro's offerings. And I'm also at the point where there isn't too much else that they'd make that I really want. I have only a handful of figures left that I really want them to make and I'm sorry but pinless and digital face printing on comic characters aren't enough to get me to upgrade my collection. Fuckin' A! It's gotten to a point where older releases don't mesh as well with the newer ones due to the noticeable difference in face printing. I'm not big on pinless, and those joints seem to stick more than pinned joints did. I already paid the price to upgrade from Toy Biz ML to Hasbro ML, I am NOT upgrading yet another time!

I'm tiring of "the chase",and I'm tired of the past few years of very minimal breathing room between releases. I want to ENJOY what I have. I already hate the digital printing "lipstick" look. I dropped the MCU and has zero interest in anything Disney is doing with Marvel any more. I'm content to dig out the old Marvel Universe Handbook of characters and just going page by page filling in the unmade figures. I can 3D print a C'hod for a couple of bucks, he doesn't need to be in ninja poses.

This. I was so excited to see what I could score in the After-Christmas sales, and every single Target and Wal-Mart had mostly barren shelves except for a plethora of BP2 stuff. No thanks!

There are leaked zoom meetings with Disney higher-ups talking about their agenda, and there are videos and interviews from licensees stating Disney and Lucasfilm dictates how to compose their case pack outs and even entire waves. Lucasfilm dictated Hasbro make that TPM TVC wave years ago to support the TPM 3D film release, and that killed TVC at retail for years. I have zero respect for any mealy-mouthed fucktard who wants to insult anybody for pointing out these corporations have an agenda, especially when the corporations are so outspoken about their agendas. It takes a special kind of stupid to gnash their teeth and screech about anyone pointing this out. It's been on the agenda to force a female into every wave since Hasbro started remaking ML after Toy Biz. Stating this observable fact is neither condemning nor supporting, it simply exists so calm your tits. But prior to the "woke" agenda, you would never have gotten a figure like Misty Knight at retail. I bought mine, but she pegwarmed hard for years. Business sells what it can sell, they want to make money. Lando Calrissian has always been a pegwarmer, yet we suddenly in one year got multiple versions in multiple scales all at one. You can not honestly point to ANY sales data that this is justifiable from a business point of view, but as an agenda demanded by the studio of course it's a corporate mandate.

It moved eventually from my local stores, I don't know if that was because they moved it off to the clearance section or what but for the most part it seems to be gone and made it's way for the She Hulk wave and now the Konshu wave. Interestingly enough the She Hulk wave was in and out at most of my stores. I only saw stuff outside of the 3 pegs full of Jeremy Renner only last about a week or two.

For me it's because I do the math and think that I used to get 5 figures for the price of 4. So it makes it harder to justify picking up the whole wave or the oddball characters until they go on sale/clearance.

Yeah I was holding out for a new DD but with better coloring. It bugs me that you can't see the DD that well. I'll stick with my Defenders pack Matt for now as well. I also would like a new GotG set but other than that I'm not sure what else I'd need for my collection. Maybe an updated Copiel Thor would be nice. They could reuse some of the most recent Herald Thor for it too.

After ordering and canceling that 3-pack twice, I decided to just treat myself to it since I love Daredevil and the Elektra is pretty great too. The chest emblem is much easier to see in person but I can't explain why, but the boots and gloves not being distinguishable still irks me a bit.. If Hasbro makes another Daredevil I'll probably pick that up unless it's VHS cell shaded stuff.

I originally ordered Peter through GameStop when he first went up since I had no trouble getting Miles through them, but they ended up cancelling my order after about a year. He liked the figure more, but not at the price point.

Let's imagine everything in the world is still the same, understanding what that means for prices, but Hasbro gives you 20th Anniversary Cap level accessories and effort in the figure. Essentially a good alt head or two, at least three sets of relevant-to-the-character hands and like two relevant accessories. At least that, for EVERY release.

At what point does the price become too much to justify even that?

I still think he should do a price rating. Basically, he should say down to the dollar what he thinks the figure is worth during the release window when it is widely available, so people can tell what he recommends is the high end people should pay for the figure. (This in the context of waiting for a sale.)

If he thinks a certain figure is still only worth the old $20 price, say that. If he thinks its even subpar by that, say $16 or whatever. If it's abysmal, say $12. If a particular figure is a standout like say Spiral then say $25 or more.

That would hurt Hasbro more among his viewership, because more often that not he'd be saying they're only worth the $20 or less. Some would take it to heart and--with some adjustments for their own tastes vs his--might be more encouraged into waiting for sales.

Funny, I think this was the first BAF I stopped at trying to complete, too many figures I didn't want (and I wanted Shang-Chi but with his Gi and not a cheap cop-out shirtless version). I remember and owned every issue of Maximum Carnage. I even reread the series, and it wasn't very good, strong start with typical plummet in quality "event" where multiple writers are trying to balance a story between different books plus too much padding)

I like Demogoblin, but I don't $100 like him. I'd buy a single release, or a 2-pack with Carrion, but other than that forget it.

Where's Feral, Wolfsbane, Rachel Phoenix, etc, etc, etc?

They are scraping the bottom of the barrel to give you NEXT BIG THING while rarely completing the last thing, then taking time to pat themselves on the back publicly for finally completing a team like the Venom Symbiotes (with ANOTHER Venom pack-in, gotcha!)

Fuck it. I just want to go full retro-carded from here on out, no more redundant pack ins to get the new figure, no more forced to buy shitty figures for BAF's. (But muh "free" pack-ins! It's not free if you have to buy crap you don't want or need)

You shouldn't be even buying toys if a dollar is going to make you seethe this hard. I'm in the same boat as you anon regarding the classic GotG. They're cool and all and I'm glad they're getting made for those that want them, but I don't know if I'm willing to spend the dosh for them. If we were talking the DnA GotG then there's no question, but I'm just not as attached to the classic iteration of the team. Probably? I was already checking out on completionism awhile back. They look neat enough I probably would for $20, but I utterly hate exclusives and that whole chase nonsense. The whole C'hod wave has zero appeal to me personally outside of Fang and Corsair. I'm still adverse to shipping charge gouging after Matty Collector's Digital River nonsense.

It's Death By A Thousand Cuts for me now. Price is a bigger issue now than before. I remember the entire community balking at the $14.99 Hulk wave with BAF Fin Fang Foom, I scored most of those on clearance due to people passing on them for $15. Today, it's not just price, but also character selection, and now a HUGE part of it is Hasbro's behavior. I'm utterly sick of this FOMO-pushing BUY IT NOW OR ELSE from every retailer possible. It's just not fun any more. I could tolerate more of the BS if it were still fun to collect.

I feel this. Sometimes I feel like I'm just here (in the general toy community) because I've been here so long I don't know what else to do. There aren't many more characters I want and the thought crosses my mind to sell everything and just forget about it. I still love getting a new toy but the other bullshit sours some of the excitement of unboxing and posing and snapping a few pics for myself. Fuck, I waited almost a full calendar year for a Black Series preorder.

I get more excited when they announce a figure I don't want! I hate that we lost TRU but it's saved me a lot of money from impulse shopping. There are still enough toys being made I can never fully check out, but more and more I'm eyeing making my own stuff to keep me happy. I've scaled WAY back on my spending. I don't play with my toys, I display them, therefore 3D printing them wouldn't bother me. I can go with a smaller scale to save room, I can print a new one in a new pose any time I want so POA doesn't matter, or I can do heads for all the cheap bucks out there and paint those. Bad company behavior already wrecked Games Workshop. The fact that Hasbro has me even considering alternatives is a sign I'm not happy with the status quo. I'm still pissed I got a D&D Venger with a fused foot.
