If the former, I kinda get you, the parts reuse allowed Mattel to make the original line more cheaply until it got successful, while NA was more expensive without proving itself.
But if you meant the latter, I don't believe fans give that much of a shit about whether or not parts are reused,as long as the toys cool.
If they did, everyone would hate the Evil Horde, since not a single member except Hordak reused any pieces in the vintage line.
