In 1/12 this is 6 inches tall.
In 1/10 it is 7.2 inches tall.
That is a significant difference. The reason is that as scales get bigger the difference between one ratio to the next is commensurately larger. So between 1/300 and 1/310 is a difference of 10 but the scale is already so small it's inconsequential. Whereas the difference between 1/10 and 1/20 is half the size. Because of this, the closer your ratio gets to 1/1 then the greater the difference will be. 1/2 is half the size of 1/1, after all.
So 1/10 and 1/12 will not be compatible for most items.
