>>10276444>And still no regular Simpsons. They are using an old marketing technique while failing to realize what it takes to actually make it work. Traditionally, whenever you make the core characters in their core looks first, the sales of ancillary characters and looks plummet. So S7 is attempting to get collectors "invested" in their lines to "world-build". Their failure is in recognizing it takes a much more manageable price-point to achieve this string-folks-along tactic I like Ralph Wiggum, but I sure as hell do not like $55+ Ralph Wiggum. Hard core collectors will still bu, but at $100k+ tooling costs, how many collectors are going to be buying it?
When you get down to it, and wave of Ultimates are $200+. Okay. How many properties do you like? And how many waves per month get shipped? What if you're into Thundercats, GI Joe, TMNT, etc, oh and how cool are The Worst?
Super7 are just flooding the market with their own product. Just two properties in one month is $400+, what if 3 or 4 drop close to each other? PLUS, are you not collecting any other toys whatsoever? No Marvel Legends, Star Wars, Mezco's, etc, etc, etc? Makes it easier to say, well, RadioActive Man looks cool and all, but something needs to be skipped this month...
Ever heard of Stan Lee's KomiKaze convention? Funko brought so much exclusive merch to those shows that the other dealers complained the guests had no money left over to spend in the dealers room. Soaking up wallets leaves no extra for other stuff. Super7 wants to string you along with ancillary figures but also get every dollar from you that they can.
