It seems like a needlessly complicated mechanism for like 3 inches of range on the actual roll. Having an actual ball piece just follow a track seems like a much better option.

Dunno. To me they all seem to be a massive downgrade compared to original line and it's not just nostalgia because I never had them. The only actual improved set is lost tomb and that's only because new one has better looking Anubis figures. All rest looks bad. Temple of Doom with much shorter rails, plane looks like a caricature. Temple Run doesn't feature seaplane for Indy's epic escape. We obviously won't get a better Nazi 'flying wing' plane and probably no other 'The Last Crusade' sets like boat chase in Venice. Really half assed job on what could be possibly a great theme line. They could make 4 sets for each movie. Adventurers had 10 sets for Egypt theme alone.

Unfortunately plane looks very bad. Like 8YO kid MOC level bad. I think I liked previous version with two planes but to be fair addition of the car, complete with two planes from 2008, allows to recreate whole Zeppelin escape.

The more i look at rivendale, the less I like it, i fear after you build it, not only will you never want to do anything to it, but also that it looks super delicate, that any attempt to move it will result in pieces and parts flying off.

I'm especially confused because the plane looks like it's based on the trainer that was standing in for a german fighter in the movie, for example in the canopy design but it also has features of a 109 like the low, exposed exhaust line
and then it's got features of neither, like the miniscule prop and general fuselage shape and HOLY FUCK WHAT DID THEY DO TO THE TAIL

The set has separations to make it fairly modular, and the canopy and whatnot can disconnect
The inside has some nice features and it comes with enough minifigs to play with
It isn't as good playability as the castle, but it is still nice

I called it on the ball that doesn't roll, the overdetailed background rock, and the easter egg sticker (gali mask). I don't care about display sets so instead of coping and malding about something that I won't own I will now download the first lego Indiana Jones game and 100% it again

PS2, I just need to get a working memory card and apply some nose grease to the rubber on the sticks. Didn't know it had issues on PC, I played the star wars ones a bunch with keyboard years ago, and besides the key bindings for player 2 I didn't have problems.

Part of me was stoked about new indy line, but i feared that they gonna butcher new sets like lucas/spielberg did with p4. I dont like any of the new sets, they look half assed, egyptian tomb and plane sceene especialy, temple run have kinda nice colors, but the fact that its facade, indy gots this horrible print and whole set is designed just for a few "play buttons" which do nothing, is making me dislike this set. I fucking despise all lego tm shit, got only two fleshies of indy (botleg) and his father (org), i showed new sets to my gf which wants to buy at least one of them to me, becasue she knows how i like to orginal movies. I fucking hate it, they did a bad job and in addition, i have to explain to my gf to not buy me something which she think would bring me joy.

Anubistomb is good. They added a lot of cool features and made proper Anubis statues over abominations from 1st version. I'm not interested in plane/car but Egyptian tomb is a great base for bigger Adventurers style temple.

It's an "adult" set so the feature needs to be self contained and easily activated and reset without loose pieces. That way you can show your wife's boyfriend in an eloquent manner how the boulder works and put it back up with ease afterward, all with a simple wrist flick without having to take the set down fron it's professionally placed perch on the entertainmentstand/coffee table.

They should have not done remakes at the the start of the wave. Much better to do new scenes. I would have replaced the ark's tomb with Belloq and the nazis opening the ark, the temple of doom with the chinese cabaret, the plane escape with the castle escape or the holy grail scene. The golden idol it's ok since it's the iconic scene but would have left at $100 without the fluff and adding the plane

2. saturn v
3. horizon zero dawn thing

i really like how compactly built and robust the saturn is. anything comparable? maybe the typewriter or the mario block, are those fragile? bd-1 is really badly made, super wobbly and his stash in the head barely works.

I guess the sellers just drop them and don’t bother picking them up. Most of the sellers here are gypsies that collect items from the trash to sell. They really don’t know about Lego. I sometimes find small piles of them on the edge of the market mixed with other small plastic toys that have been discarded because they didn’t sell and didn’t want to take them home.

Perhaps it's rather play set then display piece? Previous version, the one with shitty Anubis figures, was more like display piece despite poor display value due to said Anubis figures. Current one, possibly the only actual improvement over old Indy sets, offers more play value than just display. Ark looks very good for this scale and without using special molds too. Previous one doesn't even resemble Ark with these curved slopes out of nowhere.

But overall all other Indy sets from current lineup are garbage. Plane one is ugly, Temple of Doom, if isn't cancelled, still looms like a mess and Idol run is glorified dust collector.

Over a million subs but a shit ratio on his views, so he divested and made individual channels for everything: a new channel for reviews, a new channel for builds, a new channel for his city, all while streaming on twitch and rebranding with (an admittedly bad) logo and changing his main channel into normie lego reviewer shit with his face jammed in the corner so it wouldnt be labelled "for kids" and get revenue removed or whatever the kids label does.

And it failed. It all failed. His review channel barely gets any views, his main channel doesnt perform like it used to. Moving the reviews to a new channel was a mistake. He spends most of his time on twitch and how many people have the patience for that? When you go from being #1 to a shadow of your former self because of forces beyond your control, wouldnt you get snippy? All that work, and for nothing.

Or maybe I'm wrong: maybe those people who said he made a dozen channels solely to get more revenue were right, and now he doesn't feel the need to work as much, but being idle and having nothing to pursue can get someone into a dark spot.

Guys I could really use some help identifying these pieces with stickers. I'm assuming they haven't been listed yet, as there were a few more in that lot which I was able to pin to the right set by checking the sticker sheet.
For these I'm still clueless after several searches.
The olive green sticker is on a 2x2 curved slope, the target sticker is on a 2x2 round road sign with clip.

unironically check some local bookstores, they may dabble in lego to keep the kiddos coming in. I have one around me that stocks some lego, and every drop they buy 3 boxes of cmf and dump them in one basket, it's like feeling up presents for christmas... Bring a friend and challenge them to find them.
Hint for the orc, feel for the bags with the another bag in them, they will feel fatter and sound super plastic-y, there are only two in this cmf, the orc and the black falcon, then feel for the 1x1 round tile which i find easier as it is so small it moves a lot in the bag and there are 2, the huge sword, or feel for the bird piece to remove any black falcons from the mix.

Extrapolate how it's the worst. Big juniorized pieces? That's the only issue. Original themes were flourishing, plastic quality was still great, heavily experimental designs, plenty of prints. What? They weren't doing good financially? That's exactly why the early 2000s were great. Lego actually had to try anything and everything to see what stuck. Whats a good way to get into MOC building as someone with a very modest collection of bricks? I havent got much in the way of joint pieces so robots and mechs are out of the question for now. current joint system is ass so my only recourse is picking up some older sets or hunting on brick link. id still like to make something without needing to hunt online for specific pieces though.

Man, the lost opportunity here to lean into the fact the city is on shelves on a wall and has verticality.
