Does anyone remember or have any of these little medieval figures? They're bigger than war gaming minis, a few inches tall, usually made of fairly soft plastic and in fixed poses. I used to see them all the time in the UK in smaller toy shops and museum gift shops, but they don't seem nearly as common anymore: I saw some in a castle gift shop about four or five years ago. They were history based and were always lovely and colourful: the knights and soldiers always had brightly coloured coats of arms, the horses had nice barding, etc.
You could also get these wooden kits for making castles, siege towers, etc.
Papo seems to be the major manufacturer of them, as well as another company called Schleif. They're surprisingly expensive and it makes me wonder if there's a quiet but dedicated collectors market for them.
