>>10316807>I'm actually amazed you missed the point so massively. The point of innacurate things being slightly more accurate but still being massively innacurate?
If anything you're the one missing what I'm trying to say. I'm not trying to argue that the paint changes aren't show-inspired, that's obvious, I'm talking about how much value those changes actually have in comparison to releasing the toys as they always have been. These were never designed to look like the show models, as the models were made after the fact. If they're trying to go full nostalgia with the packaging releasing them in their original decos would have made more sense.
Not only that, but there's already better show-inspired decos on some of these molds than the ones they're releasing now. And also the changes in the Ultra figures feel more like cost-cutting than anything else because they didn't even try to ADD needed paint detail and they just REMOVED paint instead. Why not use the silver they saved from Megatron's helmet to paint his "collar" and chest vents, for example?
>>10317482>anon did the mutant head confuse youOwner of the original toy for 25 years, so no. The torso shape still looks nothing like the cartoon, no matter how gray you make it.
I perfectly know how the BW toys have always looked, as I still own most of those toys in great shape. Maybe that's why I appreciate them for how they looked back in the day and think it would be way more interesting to preserve that look in the rereleases instead of having these bad attempts at accuracy on molds that will never look like the season 1 show designs no matter what.
And again, this is not the first time this has been done, and in the past they actually did a better job than now.
If you guys like these more power to you. I'm actually glad people can enjoy these molds again or discover them for the first time. But all that talk about show accuracy on these molds feels nonsensical to me.
