Mattel will release a new JW toy line called Fierce Changers which will be made of multiple figures that can transform. For example Carnotaurs that can transform into a Stegosaurus or T Rex that can transform into a Ford Explorer. Will Hasbto sue for transforming toys? This could compete with Transformers.

Even if Hasbro had a legitimate claim to transforming dinosaur toys (they don't), they have nothing to worry about here. Those legs are awful, some of the worst kibble I've ever seen. It's not even worth suing, if I were Hasbro I'd just laugh and go on my way.

im interested in them simply for how long it's been since transformers had any real competition. They clearly wont come close to hasbro's offerings but they'll still make interesting toys. I just hope most of them just change from one dinosaur to another. That's just a way more interesting gimmick than dinosaur to car.

No. Hasbro don't own the rights to the concept of transforming robot toy, they just own the trademarks to 'Transformers', 'Optimus Prime', etc. Literally any toy company can make transforming toys, and in fact they do. Literally just go into a bunch of toy shops - most have off-brand knockoffs of tfs. In the 1980s it was a big thing, all the different transforming robot toys competing with each other. E.g. Gobots, Select Convertors etc. It's just that Hasbro's transformers won.

Beast Wars did this in the 90s. I remember one was a raptor that turned into a wolverine (as in the animal, not the marvel character). Beast Machines also had Noble/Savage, an Anthro wolf that turned into a n ugly dragon-creature.

part of the reason im hype for these is because of their similarities to beast wars mutants. thats honestly what makes the t rex so disappointing. it would have been cooler to have the rex transform into a mosasaurus or something.

Btw the Beast Wars Mutants were Animorphs toys that were shifted over to the Beast Wars line, which explains why one of them has an Andalite hidden head.

i thought everyone was aware of that by now. ironic that some of the best animorph toys ended up as part of transformers proper. meanwhile the best animorphs got was pic related.

it was speculated for years but only really confirmed when the Beast Generations book came out in 2020 and included production art confirming that the Mutants were repurposed canceled Animorphs figures

I had that Visser Three. Andalite mode was kinda hokey, but the Inferno Creature was such a badass morph. Many times as a kid he’d be the monster of the week or evil thug-alien for my various figures’ adventures. He’s pretty decently-priced second-hand on eBay, might have to grab him again.

Hasbro doesnt even do Animal to Animal/vehicle since RiD2015. They stopped being cool and i dont even buy their stuff anymore. I welcome what Mattel is doing is successful and hope they improve into something like triple changers

Hey the scorpion Ax toy is good too. It's neat how it DOESN'T just use Andalite tail for the scorpion tail. Basically if a toy didn't need to be human, it was good.
