As an Eurofag myself, you guys still have it WAY better than the rest of the world. For us 35 for a Voyager has been normal for who knows how many years. Transformers were only dirst cheap in the US.

With a terrible distribution, mainly the months before Christmas, only in very limited places and not all models, but yeah. Pic related are the ones I found in stores (even if most of the SS ones and Cyclonus were bough online first because I wasn't expecting them to appear). Also Rhinox, Tigatron, and some SS Bumblebee/Bayverse ones. My Dinobot is the only one I've ever found in stores here.

Also everything arrives wih a ridiculous delay. Still no trace of Legacy here. But sometimes that's great, as I found both Trypticon and Omega Supreme for retail last year.

Why such a difference between designs? I thought designs should be finished and LOCKED before filming starts?

Why would they need to be? They don't film with animatronics or puppets. It's all computer generated and done in post-production anyway, and has to be. The production pipeline of the toys is the real binding factor in this case, but I'm guessing the delay allowed for the divergence. They thought it would make the movie more appealing but the toys were in too deep to shift.

Hollywood has become lazy after they realize with CGI they can change anything on the spot if the plan changes. So they're more brazen with the technology than it being done any other way. Just look at Sonic movie, the original design was mocked so they went back and redesigned him. Since they never revealed Wheeljack until quite late with the toy leaks and box art it was only recently they decided to probably redesign Wheeljack looks basednon the reactions.

I think it's a matter of not blowing Leader slots on non-characters.
I like big robot dinosaurs as much as anyone but Hasbro must have seen how hard Scavenger and Grindor shelfwarmed.

Meh, I'm happy with my SS86 Jazz. At least the hood of the Earthmode car on his chest makes sense and looks more proportional, and his alt mode actually has wheels and can roll around instead of just being a boring brick. Yeah, I get it, 'accurate to the source material' and shit, but that doesn't change the fact that his Cybertronian form was a bad design to begin with.

Yeah, mine's still en route - tracking says it's the next state over, so it'll be here tomorrow for sure. I've had other items in the past that were stuck at the same "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item" status for days, only for the item to show up without the status ever changing - it seems USPS doesn't always update their tracking info.
Tldr; your Jetfire is likely already on his way, the guys handling it just haven't been scanning the tracker on the package, which (sadly) isn't that uncommon these days. Just hang tight - he'll get there.

I'd argue Wheelie's the weakest (that car mode just looks so...meh), but then again, I'm a little biased towards Buzzsaw in general. I always loved his little behind-the-scenes plotline where Rattrap saves him from Megatron, he swaps sides, becomes a full-fledged Maximal in BM, then eventually joins the Wreckers. He's a cool dude.

Yeah, I missed him the first time around as well - didn't start collecting until the tail-end of Earthrise, so he was already gone by then. I DID manage to get his SG version, and he's really fun (and big). Definitely worth getting the reissue.

We can still get good effects when actual care and time is taken with it. The Planet of the Apes trilogy was well done, imo. I'm getting CGI fatigue, honestly. Transformers Generation Combiner Wars Blades

My second and final CW helicopter.

Obviously just a repaint of Alpha Bravo, the only different piece I can notice is a slightly pointier cockpit.
Blades appears as a rescue chopper, the badges on his tail fins reading Autobot Coastal Rescue.
The word RESCUE is emblazoned on his fuselage four times.
The missiles are rescue missiles.

His HFG can be plugged in underneath as a small stand, so you don't have to leave this raw dog on the cold ground all the time.

Sad that Blades' blades got warped in storage. Maybe I'll take a hairdryer to them later and straighten them out.

Blades transforms like a CW deluxe. Nothing at all fancy.

I could tell you if Blades' head is unique, but it is different from Alpha Bravo's. His was a visor mouthguard ensemble, while this is a fully visible very stern countenance.

Adding to the red and white colour is more silver that I love for Blades' pasties and thong. The powder blue for the face looks good too. Bit sad that the blue for the eyes on mine was applied unevenly.

I've always wished that the rotor could fold up on this mold's back better instead of hanging down to the knees.
And I did just dust my desk. It may be time time for a proper wiping.

Like everything else with these molds, Blades' articulation is stock standard.

My (>>10318852) Siege Jetfire (reissue) from BBTS just showed up. Not going to do a full review (since I already did one with the Shattered Glass version of the mold, which is physically identical to this one), but I'll drop a few pics. I will say he's in good shape - no QC issues to worry about, and his blast effects are actually in better condition than my SG one's were. While I love my 'evil' black Jetfire, it's good to fianlly have him in his normal colors - plus, now my Sixgun (who's color-coordinated with this version) actually has a use, slotting into the hangar space underneath Jetfire's nose like shown in the ad for the original release of this mold.

This time around, I actually own a few Headmasters, so I'll use this opportunity to show off a hidden feature I pointed out during my Shattered Glass review - Jetfire actually has three slots that can hold a crew of Headmasters (or Primemasters, Titan Masters, or Combiner Matrices). Removing the mechanical 'computer block' in his cockpit makes room for one (currently occupied by Cogman, not shown), while the observation deck in his backpack has seats for two more (demonstrated by 'Hardhead' and 'Highbrow' here). You can actually transform Jetfire without needing to remove any of them, so that's cool - you do, however, need to partially transform the back half of the backpack (meaning you need to detach it from the boosters on his legs) to gain access to the latter two seats, though.

While I'm at it, I also picked up an Earthrise G2 Megatron to use as Megastorm, since I recently got Lio Convoy and already had BW2 Galvatron - my little Core G2 Megs is fun, but I needed something closer in scale now that I have an official Lio. Not really a fan of the mold in general (the Siege version was better) and I HATE the partsforming sword-gun thing, but I knew what I was getting myself into. I'm attaching the thing to his backpack to use as his shoulder-mounted cannon, but it still looks a bit awkward. His face sculpt looking nothing like Megatron actually works in his favor here, since he's intended to be a different character. I guess I need to start collecting some other members of the cast to fill out the ranks on both sides now...
Any suggestions for old BW2 characters who still hold up today and aren't a million dollars on the aftermarket?

Frank Welker shared in interviews both in Rotf and Prime dvd set that he didn't get the Megaton voice because he was struggling to keep the OG voice and range of it at the time. This does painfully show in the 2007movie game as Frank is giving it his all but it's clearly a very bad strain. He shares he wishes he had the Prime Megs voice pinned down before trying to get the 07 film and War for Cybertron game.

I picked up spoiler pack Ultra Magnus today at a local game store despite knowing full well a superior version of him is coming at some point this year. Other than some of the joints being a bit loose I like how hefty he feels, and the battle damage seems a lot more tastefully done on him compared to some of the other Siege figures.

I'm a bit mixed on what I want the upcoming SS86 figure to be. On one hand Ultra Magnus has always been a white Optimus in armor and a Commander budget could do it justice where Kingdom failed, but on the other he never had the inner bot on screen and they could easily handle him like his Masterpiece figure where the entire truck and trailer forms his full body.

The story is a bit muddy. Welker had originally auditioned for the role of Megatron in the 2007 movie. alls i know is, i've heard lots of voice actors and generally, they get it. They have no ego, they know that different directors want different things. It's always funny hearing the original TMNT cast talking about how when they caught wind of a TMNT movie they were practically ordering yachts, before hearing they cast someone else.. but they get it. the only time people get mad is when they're fired unexpectedly because of dumb executive crap (Terrorsaur's voice) or pointlessly replaced in a terrible cash-in series where the original cast was still around and active (Powerpuff Girls).

The Protectobot whose name I had to look up

This is white version of the Dead End mold. He's a very chunky police car, and the scale backs that up. Streetwise weighs more than every deluxe I've gotten in the last while.
So yeah, he's big. In a way that feels good in your hand.
Good handfeel. Very toyetic.

Beyond that Streetwise is sporting the half-assed paintjob CW was known for.
The lightbar and front end are done up well enough, but the rear end of the car is near barren. The way the strip on the side just stops bugs me.
Whatever. Paint would just slow him down from being rocketed across a desk or across some kid's kitchen floor.

You should probably watch it while it's still in theaters. Or maybe don't. I genuinely don't know, Avatar's in a weird spot because a lot of the experience will definitely be lost when watching it on a phone or from a TV, but at the same time the plot isn't much to write home about, (but what can you expect from a James Cameron movie anyways) so you'll definitely feel like you're watching something that's over 3 hours long. I've never been simultaneously supper immersed into a movie while also thinking it was shit at the same time.

Streetwise isn't a terrible looking robot man.
I got my problems with him though.

Firstly the arms on this mold are too short. They look like they're missing the elbow section entirely when unbent.

Second problem is more subjective.
I wish the black in robot more was replaced by the blue of vehicle mode.
Some cohesion between the two modes is lost as is.

Streetwise's head seem to be where the most love has gone. Though I couldn't tell you if it was unique.
Some silver for the the face and a couple dabs of red on his helmet.
His bright slightly too wide blue eyes give him the appearance of being constantly lost.

I really only ever loved the first two films, both for character designs and action scenes/tone; DotM-onward became very gloomy/up-its-ass and boring, while the designs became more humanoid, uglier, and WAY less interesting (except maybe the Dinobots if you're into them?).
Honestly, I just want new/fixed molds for the EXISTING figures (or for some, even just better paint apps). So many of them are just cheap crap... Like, compare the new SS RotB Bumblebee to any prior SS Bee, it looks like a way better-engineered toy. Gimme that but retooled to look like either of his 2007 designs, and I'd be happy.

I'd forgotten about him, but yeah, that's a nice vehicle. Plenty of movie-formers leave a lot ot be desired, but they weren't afraid to take risks with the designs (which resulted in some gems) and plenty had really nice vehicle modes.

Energon Towline is such an oddity in every way. He's not a show character, his alt mode appears to be some sort of news van thing or reminds me of the RV from Ben 10 so I keep calling him Broadcast by mistake. He has the unique battle station thing that g1 ratchet and Ironhide had (and they got botcon repaints from this) and supposedly his deco is based off Skids with the stripes and colors save for the gold. I grabbed Rodimus so he'd have a lynx buddy and Rodimus is pretty decent. Too bad that two pack of him as Checkpoint and white prowl is a pain to get a hold of now.

Seriously curious how the designers decided to make a deluxe with a battle station he can self and other powelinx to form a centaur.

I mean I know it's a compromise for primitive design and all I just mean in concept, like as the target audience child is it fun to have an immobile battle platform to play with? Energon was the 20th anniversary of Transformers. I'm sure the designers at the time had to dig into a lot of things G1 related and make the new toys at the time a great callback to the early beginnings.
