How do i manage cleaning up and letting go of excess toys i dont want anymore? I feel very guilty because im afraid im taking bad care of my toys but i have way too much stuff like rusty brown levels of hoarding and i want to ensure i take good care of my favorite figures and plushies and other stuff.

Is there any possible advice aside form «just do it»? I had to sell a big part of my collection at one point: just took good photos and posted them in buy-sell groups -- just like jumping in a water for the first time. Didn't think, didn't hesitate, just did it.

If you have a display then prioritize selling the items on it before you start looking at the ones you actually mess around with such as your favorite desk toys or whatever. You'll be amazed at how little connection you actually have with the ones you bought to display. And I'm not even trolling because I've been doing these purges myself over the years, it's precisely what I did each time.

Thats what ive been trying to do but the guilt is still there and its hard. I just wish i wasnt so overwhelmed with trying to clean up

I wanna sell some stuff here but im afraid in a way someone will recognize my address. Also another key factor is i dont want to buy nearly as much as i do on a usual basis and i want to know how i can quell buying so much. Also thanks for the advice about the display bit

Anyway, I would go through your collection picking out the figures you feel least attached to and putting them away in storage for a while. See which ones you miss, if any, and sell the ones you don't. I've sold probably upwards of a hundred figures since I started collecting over a decade ago. Have regretted selling very few of them.

Also, whenever I start running out of space, I implement some kind of restriction like only buying one figure per month or if I buy a new figure I have to sacrifice an old one. Really clamps down on impulse buys.

Take photos of the toys you are gettig rid of. After that, you can donate, sell, or throw them away. Now you have a memory of them and they dont take up space.
Just don't let go of toys you feel some attachment to. Imagine yourself 10 years from now. Will you want to hold that toy again over a new toy that gets released in that time frame? If no, then best to sack it. If yes, then keep it.

My rule was if I wasn't displaying it, it was time to go. I took them to a toy shop in my town and traded them in for things I would display. Obviously they don't give me the total worth so I end up with less stuff but get the high of new stuff. I did this till I was down to nothing in storage.
