my ultimate goal is to build a diorama/display scene where they're being built on an assembly line a bit like an old tank factory, but that's going to take a hell of a lot of space/time/money/planning, so for now I just have 10 of the things collecting dust. I'm pretty sure the set was cancelled due to design flaws that initially slipped through QC, but Lego employees are under NDA about them.

I am the anon that posted sometime last year about buying too many used lots on Goodwill and not being able to keep up with the sorting. I am happy to report that I have finished washing the last order, which was 26 pounds, pic related. All clean with all bootlego removed and ready to be sorted. Then I can get back to building once and for all. This is one of the best lots I have acquired. Its full of exlusively late 80s/early 90s soul, which should make sorting go quickly.

According to this guy Lego personally told him he could show the leaked set image, and all the statements about the TOD are very vague and don't specify if it's cancelled or delayed, the lego.com descriptions even left in promos for the TOD, also with the wording "we consolidated the launch to focus on three products" everything seems point to it being some sort of delay instead

I know for sure these ones are expensive. The Leia has smooth hair which is rare and therefore retards value it at like $200 (I can't imagine someone actually paying $200 for it but who knows).

Space is becoming a big problem. I have 14 Akro Mils drawers mounted to the walls to store common parts. When a part is so common it that it starts taking up too many of those drawers I put it into ziplock bags and into a big cabinet drawer thing I built out of wood. Now that is full too so the super common stuff like 2x4 and 2x2 bricks get sorted by color into bigger ziplock bags and stored in big plastic bin that go under the table. I need to start a bricklink store and start unloading some of this stuff.

Has anyone else had issues with missing sets from online orders from Lego?

I recently had an order come in and it was missing a set. I'm going to contact Lego about it and get them to send out the missing set. I took photos of the box with everything still inside it showing that there wasn't enough room for there to be a second one in there, as well as photos of the enclosed invoice that says there were suppose to be 2, as 'proof' that it was missing a set.
At a guess, I'd say that it was probably just a minor mistake by whoever packed it and they thought that they had put 2 in, because the GWP was roughly the same size as and looked similar to the missing set.

But the thing is, I'm a little worried that it might look a bit sus, because a similar thing happened a few years ago.
Back at the end of 2021 I made an order that included 2 Barracuda Bay sets, but they only sent me 1. I contacted Lego and they told me to wait a couple of days to see if the second one showed up in a separate parcel and that if it didn't, they'd send another one out to me. I waited 3 days and it didn't show up so I let them know, but by that point they said they had no more in stock because it was retiring/just retired, so they sent me a refund instead.

So when I contact Lego about the missing set from this order, they'll no doubt send it out to me, as support is really good like that, but are they likely to think that this is some sort of recurring scam? Or will they accept that I'm legitimately missing one of the sets I ordered? Other then the missing Barracuda Bay and this, I've only ever contacted support once, which was because I got a very dodgy print in a set and asked if they could send me out a replacement piece, which they did, so it's not like I have a massive history of this type of thing, but still.
Oh and if you're wondering, it was the Creator Australia Postcard set that was missing.

I doubt it. A minifigure wouldn't suit how odd it is, and a proper build probably wouldn't have the needed detail to scale. They'd probably need new parts to make it work. They probably will just skip it entirely, unfortunate as that is.

use this opportunity as a lesson on how to scam lego. they need to pay for their faggotry, declining quality, price hikes and outlandish profits. a cool way to score free stuff when buying overpriced licensed sets is to call customer support and tell them a bag with a rare minifigure was missing in your set. on some sets that allows you to get a discount of up to $100 after you sell the fig. you can also use a hair drier to heat up the seals on the set, open it without breaking the seals, take out a bag with rare parts in it, reseal the set, return it and get your money back. those are some entry level scams, first one is legal, second one depends on your country's laws but basically you can do it once to every corporation without getting punished. there are some more creative scams but i wont go into details.

there's a later scene where the little freak is incapacitated so he separates his head from the rest of his body and crawls back into the crab droid. so it's possible they have a piece representing his head that you can put in the head part of the droid. the round 4x4 on top looks like it would be able to come off so you can put him inside.

I liked a variety of series as a kid. Really wanted more Rock Raiders as a kid and surprisingly got most of them in a garage sale bin. Now I'm just missing the chief really and he's way too overpriced for me to want to bother. Adventurer's I wanted the Sphinx's Secret Surprise, but nowadays I don't think I can justify $300 used on such a small set.

it was a set of leds for this Lego set from Amazon but I dont remember the name. They were pretty cheap and I had to watch a video on youtube how ro route the wires but was pretty simple process. I think the leds were around 30 dollars for the kit.

I have always wanted a Bandit's Hideout set and Fort Legoredo set from Western/Wild West. I did get almost all of the Indian-themed sets, but none of the larger sets for the outlaws. I did get the small Cavalry sets, though. If I were wealthy and had a way to track them all down, I'd buy one of each western-themed set and relive my childhood.

How come they only made one minecraft set with a minecraft-ed version of an existing lego figure, then switched to (really quite ugly and with mismatched colours) completely new designs for the minifigs? Why is there such a disconnect between what Lego does and what people want?
First and formost Lego is a toy. Toys are aimed at kids. So why do some sets get criticized for being the way they are when they're designed for kids?
At the other side I wonder why adults feel the need for 18+ sets. Of course Lego makes them because they see money in it but many of these sets go against the core of Lego. They're not meant to be played with, literal dust collectors, not meant to be taken apart etc.

Been thinking about the new Indiana Jones sets and they look nice and all but it feels kinda half assed? Like why is there only 2 mainline sets and 1 adult set? Like there's so few it feels weird

Also the plane set looks cool but like its kinda weird you can just buy a toy with a straight up nazi in it. I know he's meant to be the bad guy of the set but its still p weird, especially considering its meant for kids too. Really wish they made the pilot look more generic so you could at least pretend its just some soldier instead of the weirdly specific nazi pilot. Example adventure line:

Meanwhile Indiana Jones line:

The distribution of vehicles greatly overwhelming amount of structures is baffling. Indy sets should be focused on ruins and tombs rather than overload of vehicles. Adventurers provided great play locations and okay vehicles. Indy provided great vehicles but lackluster locations.

It feels like all these were designed last minute. Not that I was expecting 18+ sets, but as far as playsets go these are just bare. The Velociraptor set clearly looks like it's the rushed outcome of a set that got 1/4th way through the design process until they ran out of time and said fuck it, toddler set.
There is just no fucking way they were going to sell that $40 set like that, I don't want to believe it.

Also wish there were more side minifigs like the hardhat workers and Jeep drivers. Where's Gennaro and Dr. Harding? Just disappointing.
I get JP ain't no Star Wars, but it's the 30th anniversary, does that not warrant a little more love and attention to detail? Feels like Fallen Kingdom and Dominion sucked all the life out of the franchise. Last time Lego really gave a shit about it was before those films.

Themes that don't sell get cancelled, and Ideas despite all the shit that it produces has the guarantee that many people like and back it up. Brickheadz is fast collectible garbage but it's easy to buy and display so it's a no brain gift or desk display, same with flowers and minifigs and cars. Starwars is on a high tide despite breaking all expectations with the worst trilogy to exist, that means rerereleases every season and crap like microfighters, all with new molds of course.
Children still get Lego but it's getting more expensive to buy, makes sense that kids that aren't careful with toys are getting them less and fresh manchildren with disposable income are buying more.

It's nice that they're FINALLY making builds for the jeep and explorer that people have been asking for for years, and it's great that we're getting new a new dinosaur like the Brachiosaurus. Minifigures are at an awful scale in the first place, any car you build that's "to scale" with their height is forced to lack a ton of important detail.
Technic figures are unironically far better than minifigs for making brick-built vehicles with both an appropriate scale and good level of detail

Just came back to legos, and I'm currently washing my sitcky and gooey bricks from 1997-2002. Do I need to take any extra care on pieces with chrome silver finish (like swords and rock raiders drill)? Mine are already a bit damaged, but I'd like to keep them as well as possible.

Jungle was K!N0 too but then they shat the bed with Dino Island. Not only big blocky builds but also it was a collection of vehicles with one big half assed base camp.

I used to place small temples and tombs all around my room and then they had to travel from one corner to another finding more ruins on their path.

I got this as a kid and it was one of my favorite sets. I had added a bunch of shit to it to make it a full palace, my parents even got me another one like a year or so later when it was on sale being discontinued or whatever and I had an awesome palace with a double rolling ball setup, it was awesome I wish I had pictures of it.

I did some poking around and found this article which talks about Lego triangles. What I'm trying to do is a "near triple" of (7,7,10). Author says it works if you use hinge plates, since they have some give. But since the 79846 are rigid, I think the difference in length will put some considerable stress on the brick that bridges the gap. Oh well, back to the drawing board...

Always wanted one of the Lego Studios Horror/Movie Monster sets as well as one of the Sports set for the novelty of it. Finally managed to get the Vampire Crypt and the 1 on 1 Soccer Set. Nice to finally have after so long; although, the Gentleman Minifigure in the Vampire reminds me of Roger Moore more than anything

Only other big want would be either Space Police III, or Studios Spider-Man
