As for cabbage girl, she is the best, pretty with great hair as well, she just displays classic sets, her vintage collection is awesome, her last video mentioned how she didn’t like the price for the new black lake set, she wins by a long shot

I'm thinking of erasing all the printing of my minifigure heads. I just don't think they should have specific expressions if the whole point of playing is putting them through different situations. Why should this dude be smiling when I'm making him hang of a cliff or fight a bear? And no I'm not gonna be swapping their head for a different expression just to play out a 60 second scenario.

Even the classic smiley doesn't feel neutral enough. This way I can just use my imagination to make it exactly what I want it to be, it gives Lego an inherently less cartoony feel and it's one less thing to worry about as far as having to spending money on character customization to get the right features I want

Man, someone loved me as a kid, I have the important stuff for the Galleon, going to assemble it once I have it all together. I think Liam Neeson's hair from Star Wars is uncommon, I don't think I've ever seen it on anything else. The neon pieces brought back old memories, I totally forgot about that alien theme.

Interesting. That is chrome but it is well after they made the swap for clone wars grey hilts. I’m guessing lego had a large stash of those they were planning to use for clone wars but didn’t. And decided to offload it on one set.

My niece and nephew love lego castle. She likes the princesses he loves the knights. So far the only lego set that has made sense to get for them has been the $100 3 in 1 set. Which I did a few years ago. They had an absolute blast with it and always request I bring over a tub of my older lego castle sets for them to play with.

Really the biggest obstacle TLG faces with Castle, outside whatever shit their marketing research team is telling, is that they can't lazily chuck Castle into City like they've done with othe things. If they found a way to do that, I feel like we would be seeing a greater range of Castle-inspired sets kids and parents could afford. In that regard, I think the next best thing (in TLG's mind) they could do is try to come up with a marketable conglomerate theme that's like a historical/fantasy counterpart of City. Something that includes sets inspired by Castle, Viking, and maybe even Pirates among other things that can free them from having to fight for space with everything else in Creator.

Other than that, the closest TLG would get to Castle again is if they evolve Zelda from that single Deku Tree set into a full successful theme like Mario. With the advent of Tears of the Kingdom and it's crafting mechanic, I feel like it's very possible that TLG or Nintendo would want to pivot their focus onto TotK if Zelda as a theme ever gets greenlit. Though, TotK wouldn't be every Castle fans or hardcore older Zelda fans's cup of consolation tea. But that's most realistic outlook we have in terms of TLG selling Castle-like stuff to kids in the near future.

(Though to be honest, the success of a Zelda theme is gonna be greatly due to millennials consoomers instead of kids anyway, regardless of TLG's approach).

Previous Lego normal castle line sold like shit.
The new castle is not as big hit as well.
Creator castle was a hit with adults.
If parent actually wants castle for kids they go for playmobil as you will get bigger castle for better price.

Do you guys actually find lego fun? There are peopld online who build these crazy amazing moc's and for me I bought this lego mario set that looked simple but throughout the entire build my head was feeling strained and I felt tired when I was done.

I compare myself to these guys who make moc's that are like legitimate pieces of art and I feel like doo doo feces. I remember when I was a child I was not gung ho over lego or was playing the comparison game and I built anything no matter how shit it looked and I had fun. I feel like I can't get that experience back because looking at these creators moc's was like opening pandora's box.

Yeah, maybe they will do it at one point, Tommy Adreassen didn't like the idea. He also cockblocked aliens introduction in Ninjago, 2015 was going to be an alien invasion season after robots according to Hageman bros, thats why they went to space in one episode but Ninjago lead designer said no. And the toys are made first, then show. Tommy is gone now, thank God. Summer season is the first not made by him but new designers team.

Yeah, Tommy Andreasen hates space themes and aliens in general, so he was against the idea. He left Ninjago team last summer, Crystalized was his last work on Ninjago. Core 2023 is not done by him and Ninjago United is a whole new team working on the theme. I am GLAD he is GONE. So we could see aliens very soon, perhaps 2024 or 2025. Including for the fact United is gonna be the next phase of Ninjago set in the future as Krux and Acronix changed the timeline.

The weird thing is that you CAN find cheap plastic storage but you need to use the correct wording. You just need to search fishing/tools organizer. The price drops by $40 and it's the exact same product. Even still its overpriced considering it's all garbage. All these products have planned obsolescence in their manufacturing. They all catch when you open them and have hard snaps that will inevitably shatter the cheap plastic.

personally i think the sets are pretty lackluster, and i wish lego would do a new take on a ninja/samurai theme (thats not fucking ninjago) with more grounded sets base on actual historical events. the instruction booklets could have some fun tidbits about history relating to the set so we can get some edutainment in there for the kids

It is frequently considered to be a subtheme of Castle, as the traditional European-style medieval sets were discontinued the year prior, and the Ninja packaging sports the same shade of orange as the Castle boxes throughout the 1990s. Ninja accessories were also included in 10066 Castle Accessories released in 2002. However, the line was never explicitly advertised as a Castle theme by LEGO.

Either that or do stuff based off classic samurai films as well from the golden age like The Hidden Fortress 1958, though it would be better with black and white minifigures vs fleshies for that one, or just the usual yellow lmao

im not sure lego would do something with such old source material, is there anything newer that could work as an excuse to have a samurai theme? probably has to be something even kids would recognize since obviously they are the primary audience for lego, and i wouldnt want it to be a $300 one off set

I'm not sure how TLG classified it but I would say yes. It was one of the more interesting subthemes of castle. And, for whatever it's worth, BL has it categorized under Castle.

Sounds awesome. I'm sure there are plenty of naysayers, but I think there is president for success there. Lego has done enough disastrous theme experiments over the years that were far more costly than that.

Looks so good.
I got the Zanes titan mech but was very underwhelmed. The articulation isn't all that great and overall feels janky. Anyone know a good mod of it similar to this one? I know that Minotaur one but not really what I was looking for...

NTA. There are a lot of different time periods representative of olden Japan. When Japan had muskets, it wasn't medieval times. They were very late to the party. However their ping pong neighbors to the west were having fun with gunpowder as early as the 800s. And early firearms invented in the 900s. Surprisingly Europe first started using firearms in the 1300s. Which was in the late stages of the medieval period.

japanese medieval times are usually said to have ended in the early 1600s and the portuguese brought matchlocks mid 1500s, which was during the sengoku period with plenty of famous events and people to be made into sets and minifigs
