>>10334539My favorite part is how the figures are designed to be able to actually carry all their gear. It's a small touch, and a lot of it is done with simple pegs and the like, but it adds so much more play value to the figures cause it's just fun to gear em all up.
>>10334562Showing the accessories is nice and all, but I kinda liked the unique character art for each figure taking up the front of the box. The fact each figure has it's one special artwork makes these guys feel a bit more special, as that takes a lot more care and dedication....as well as money...then simply slapping a basic CG image on the box. Though I agree, giving them backgrounds and darker borders makes the boxes look very nice.
>>10335775I'm actually a fan of Marvel Legends and have a nice pile myself, but
>>10335758 is right in how much better Classified stuff is in comparison. It's clearly because Hasbro doesn't have to pay the licensing fee and wants their classic flagship brand to be treated well. But I also feel it's because G.I. Joe figures *need* to be good in order to sell to non fans where as Marvel's stuff will usually sell regardless.
Like, a Spiderman figure will always sell, Hasbro can half ass them to eternity and back and there will always be those who buy regardless. But Big Ben *had* to be a good figure, and packing him with that Gasmask head seems to have enticed people who don't even care about G.I. Joes to want him because he'll make a great faceless SAS soldier. Marvel Legends sell based on the fact that they're marvel characters, but G.I. Joes sell because they're just damn fine toys.
