>>10373509I decided that MP was the way to go with the most options. (All prices are USD)
For Megatron: Went with Maketoys Despotron: Cost $130 runner ups: MP 36/KO MP36 : Cost $100 for the KO $250+ for the Takara (get the KO specifically the IT-01 it fixes issues with the official)
For Shockwave: Went with Fanstoys quakewave Toy color edition: Cost got mine for $160, but the toy color is rare so expect to pay closer to $250+ with the cartoon and clear versions going for around $180-$200 Runner ups: MP 29+ Shockwave $700+ and Cloud 9 Quakeblast $120-$350
For Soundwave: THF Sonic Wave/MP 13 Soundwave: Cost $90 for the KO $200+ for the Takara Tomy Runner up: Fanstoys Acoustic Wave $250 for the official $100-$150 for the KO
For Starscream and The Seekers: Maketoys Meteor (Starscream), Maketoys Skycrow (Skywarp), and Maketoys Lightning(Thundercracker): Cost on Tfsource right now you can get each seeker for $100 and if you get the main 3 it qualifies for free shipping. Runner Up: Deformation Space Crimson Wings,Sky, and Thunder (Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercraker respectively ): Cost $250 msrp but I have seen sales from $85 to $150
I like my figures to have a blend of the classic dreamwave look, the original toys and a more "realistic" look so these were my choices. I also like to transform my figures instead of having them only on display, so having a transformation that didn't make me want to kill myself was a priority. All of them are also the most/ second most articulated version of the character at MP scale as I highly value poseability.
if you want a more toon look:
Megatron= MP 36 KO
Starscream= MP 3.0 or Deformation Space (my pick is deformation space if you don't care about transforming it and want a better size+articulation)
Shockwave= MP 29/KO
Soundwave= Fanstoys Acoustic Wave/ the KO
