>>10362605Best DCD/DCC figures are all limited in terms of articulation, but that's a given, considering the line and price point.
But even the Icons line had some excellent stuff.
>shading on their figuresThat seems to be the extent of their budget. There's no artistic shading like blush, eyeshadow or highlights, washes, etc etc, which absolutely need to be used on comic figures to look more like the art.
Lines like Icons did that, but using the much cheaper print tech to cheat that look. Doesn't look as nice as the Designer series or Mezco's One:12 line.
>domestic/cheap figures still haven't found a way to provide good feel for articulation while also keeping up posesactually, Hasbro did a pretty good job with the 25th GI Joe line. There used a metal ball joint and a rubber cap inside the hips to keep things tight and smooth. IF something was off, or became loose over time, it was a pretty easy fix by disassembling it.
That said, it really isnt all that special and no import line i own (various lines by medicom, bandai, good smile, square, takara, koto, and who knows who else) comes anywhere close to Toy Notch.
IT just feels so random and incidental because of that.
Also, you really can't compare current McFarlane and Hasbro because their joints are usually ribbed and indented. Only the swivels are smooth and they're usually not supporting any weight.
