For post obscure/failed toys. I'll start.
Noticed this toyline called Akedo on sale online around Christmas. It looks neat. I've never heard of it before. Never seen it in stores. Its toys are still on sale. Yet I still don't want to buy it.

I've never of heard of Vons or Ralphs. I assume they're both big box stores.
Pic related is the sale price I've seen since November. It's almost April and that sale price hasn't changed. Which makes me think that the Akedo brand is dead.

it's not obscure or failed, it's had like 6 different waves in the past year. Most toylines barely hit 2 or 3 waves. If it ended tomorrow it would have more different figures released than like 80% of all toylines ever.

Didn't realize that it's actually popular enough to crossover with TMNT. Must be because it's not real popular with adult collectors.

Anyway, this shit is still going strong with Wave 5 being called "Beast Strike." They seem to be moving away from the jokier character designs.

What's confusing to me is that it's so heavily discounted with online retailers. Or that there's no updated wiki. Even the toyline's official website only acknowledges up to series 3.
I had to do my own research to confirm that series 1 & 3 were a combination of blind bag and non-blind packages. Series 2 only has non-blind releases. So does series 4 but it seems to be mostly be made up of playsets instead of just individual figure releases.

I've been collecting Akedo with my son. He has every single figure now from Series 1-4 including exclusives as well as the very rare figures that are worth like $1000. Stormstrike and Lord Shifta.

Hoping with TMNT and other licenses the line picks up more steam.

Chase figures limited to 1000 produced. And a lot of the 1000 don't come with the matching base because they are packed in the 3 four packs.

The first one was a huge hit and saved Lego from bankruptcy, it lasted nearly a decade.
Now the same can't be said about the reboot, that shit does fit this thread as it lasted 2 years, and the last wave was just Toys R us exclusive.

You can only spin them but they tilt to roundhouse kick as you whip them around. If you smack the bit on their chest hard enough their anchor foot let's go of the base and they have a spring in the anchor leg that'll launch them into the air.

i remember having these little humanoid (although completely square) figurines, that click clacked with their joints. they all had different skins and plastic colors. i guess they kind of look like your stereotypical 50s scifi robot, but they were about the size of your palm. when you'd move their joints you could hear the "click-clack." i think they came out around towards the end of the tech tech dude craze. anybody remember these? I haven't seen any pictures on here in any threads.

its crazy how many variations on the rock em sock em game came out in the 90s. pretty much every batman adaption got one, along with terminator, tmnt, spiderman, power rangers, and small soldiers. it would surprise me if a big 90s brand didnt get one.

Collectors will do ANYTHING to get what they want.
I decided to get an Akedo fig blind box to see what was like. Notice too late that the box wasn't sealed after getting home. Someone had swapped the ultra rare fig for a panda.
