Yeah he seems to be the one everyone is most excited for. DDP in jeans would have been better but that will probably release to retail. Hopefully they pull something out to make this fund quickly like an Eric Bischoff. HISS tank was funded in 48 hours I’m pretty sure.

I’d say each ultimate being $35-40, X5 figures let’s say that’s $200 worth of figures. So the stage with lights and detail is $200. If this thing fully funded it would be great but they aren’t even advertising this heavy at wrestlemania. They need to throw in a Bischoff or exclusive Hall and Nash Outsiders just for this set and release their other looks later through retail (that will help with your value justification). They need to sweeten this for the fans because HISS tank funded in no time. Crowdfunds that fund quickly are the best way to do this through rocking it not “what can we as a company get away with?”.

I collect mythic legions, neca movie turtles, some classic marvel legends, savage crucible and more. This would legit get me into a whole new line with Monday Night Wars figures and a full NWO and deep WCW roster. This has so many possibilities having a solid wrestling arena. They could even make a Sting in a year or two if that would work out with him retiring.

i don't have a problem with the price of the stage other than the fact that it's only worth it if it hits all tiers. otherwise it's a bad value. i'd be all over it a few years ago when i was actively collecting wrestling toys (and focusing on wcw particularly so this would've been perfect), but these are all i collect now

Yeah Mattel needs to not get greedy like Hasbro and the rancor. Mattel could do a good faith and guarantee Hogan or add The Outsiders now to jack up it meeting the early bird. I could see that pushing this far. But honestly if this doesn’t fund getting into the line and all of the upcoming WCW NWO figures won’t be as worth it.

They have to.. they have no choice. They have to release some heavy hitters like Hall and Nash. You can truly see a successful crowdfund when you look at the ones like HISS Tank that funds in two days. Other ones like this and the rancor that snail along bring a lot of issues (rancor was only a few hundred away from funding). This stage is basically going to bring in a whole new collector base. I collect many 6 and 7 inch figures and didn’t like current wrestling figures. But now they have the chance with Monday Night Wars line to fully build out more 90s goodness. This stage will bring in a whole new line to their stale brand. AEW and WWE are fake and scripted and don’t feel like real wrestling. The 90s WCW vs NWO era was what made wrestling popular on a new level.

Turns out this thing is modular and can be made to be smaller or even a stand alone shelf on a wall. Why doesn’t Mattel show those pictures in the launch of this? It’s like they aren’t taking this seriously at all. The only reason I found out about this project is from some toy instagram. Good guess and this would be a great one. Randy Savage NWO was $25 on Walmart last week when I got him. They are going to have to pull out something bigger and a wow factor. This is going too slow and if it doesn’t hit early bird it will be a Haslab ghost rider garbage all over again. Finders will start dropping off. Hoping Mattel has a contingency plan in place because this stage is the only thing getting me into their line. And I will go full in with the WCW NWO figures if this happens.

I just funded the stage you jabronis. They don’t charge until the campaign is over so if you have to cancel a month from now for an emergency you can. Resale value is there if only a limited number are made. Also to all you RAW fans, if you want that stage it isn’t getting made unless this one does.

Probably not today. But Mattel has to have a backup plan. They will include the Hogan and maybe give the announcers table. Something will be announced to push this. They should have had Scott Steiner be early bird and DDP first tier. Could have only had those 2 and the entrance for $350 and it probably would have funded already.

People are coming off of WrestleMania traveling & Easter is soon after. Give people a few paychecks to get themselves in order.

If Mattel keeps the Crowdfunds going live during WrestleMania they should tease the announcement in January with a countdown. That way it won't catch people by surprise within a week and only 30 days to back it up. Plenty of time to start saving up in January to April especially at these prices. Great stuff they are doing but the execution is still rough.

I get Rey since that's where he started but hulk and warrior just seem out of place since their big matches came from wwf. So why not just start with nitro guys? Rights issues. WWE only has a small number of MNW era WCW guys on legends deals and people like Disco and Konnan would have to sign them to do it. And Legends deals have a ton of caveats that allow the WWE to control what talent does outside the company that makes it so a lot of ex-WCW guys don't bother trying to get.

Also Shockmaster was pre-Monday Night Wars.

They have to switch it all up by this Friday. The campaign is stalling and I am a WCW NWO guy through and through. If this doesn’t get funded because Mattel made the dumbass greedy tiers then they just won’t get me buying the ring or the Monday night war figures they have in the pipeline. I don’t like WWE but I was going to get all of the figures to make the BAF like the upcoming Lex. This was launched poorly with greed and they have one way to save this.

Just like when the skystryker was stalling they added a whole Cobra takeover, they need to do an NWO takeover gimmick of the campaign and just include Hall and Nash Outsiders immediately at 5000. Easy save.

These companies need to realize the tiers are actually hurting them because people see the backer number required and know it won't get there and so don't bother since its too expensive unless all figures are included so they don't want to risk backing and not getting every figure. They need to either cut that shit out and just offer the base item for a lower cost or include every figure without the stipulation of backer numbers.

It's crazy how Cody in AEW wasn't getting over with the crowd... and how bad his initial run became. Now in WWE, he's one of the hottest wrestlers today. His loss against Roman hurt him but I think he can turn it around in his favor.

People need to realize they are paying for the stage period. It doesn't cost Mattel much to give you figures as tiers. That's why they are there. If they don't reach 7, 9, 11 no loss for Mattel. 90% is reused parts + new deco on a figure.

i think they should shut it down early and come back with a different configuration, I have no problem paying for the stage, but why not take the minimum from 5k@$400 to 10k@$300 with less extras or add a commentary booth at 15k with a Larry Zybysko and JJ Dillon?

I would be down for an attitude era stage, Smackdown fist stage or the current LED wall stage. They really should have started with one of those instead. I don't even collect the figures but one of those stages would be awesome to own.

What shocks me is Mattel’s lack of preparation. Only give us a month to find this, barely tell anybody, don’t have a good backup plan to fund it like the skystryker with an NWO takeover gimmick and add Hall and Nash for an exclusive look. Too easy.

So I am starting to think this will back. They aren’t going to let it fail and they will release the other figures separately. People have been sharing photos of where the Next Generation arena was at this stage and it’s very similar. They need to pull out some other surprise last week to make it pop.
