I just learned of these MOLA sets. They're intended for board meetings and arcitects to use, but they also look like a lot of fun to play with in general. The sets are springs and cables with magnets at the ends to simulate flexing and failure of large structures, but I wonder if these could be used to design really cool and functional arcitecture and maybe get away from the current fad of grey cubes.
They're king of expensive though. So I was wondering if there were any similar engeneering toys, like meccano or lego technic, that could be used in the same way.
