>>10368893>don't get your logic of # of toy stores = market sizeBecause it literally correlates with the market size. For example, there being a gas station on nearly every corner means gasoline is widely used
It's the same with toys: there being so many toy stores is because the market is so large that it can support thousands of stores. Same with why there's so many toy companies in Japan, vs England, France, Germany, Mexico, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Argentina, China, Korea, etc etc etc. They'er second only to the US.
Nevermind their market size in $$$
Thus, the volume of sales should cover the cost of production, ESPECIALLY when various lines are popular around the world, since there's so many Japanese toy stores that serve overseas fanbases.
>Hasbro already reduced the price by making lots of figures enough to even be sold in JapanSeriously, you're clueless. You're basically saying Hasbro is somehow subsidizing their toys in other countries, when the fact is Hasbro is basically expecting a universal profit margin. Nevermind retailers and distributors need to make their money too. If sales were as low as you're trying to pretend they are, the mark up would need to be as high as collector toys. NEVERMIND that Japanese childrens toys aren't that much more expensive than Hasbro/Mattel/etc figures.
Again, i point toward other countries with smaller toy markets and how Hasbro shit costs double there, if not more.
>Also you're dealing with at least two anons, I'm not anime guy.You should listen anyway. Fact is that otaku are gouged and all facts point toward the collector toy makers taking their own turn in widening their assholes. Biggest proof of this is Square Enix, since their toys are hugely more expensive than other imports, despite not being any better than other imports and ALSO being one of the biggest collector toy companies in the US. Only Bandai has more distribution in the US, who bought their own distributor in the US.
