Hey fellas, i have a couple of Alclad/ airbrushing questions.
1. If I sprayed Alclad gloss black base, then Alclad chrome, (giving good time to cure) why does the clear color fuck up the chrome. I’ve tried with Mr hobby and Mr hobby gx colors (thinned with Mr leveling thinner about 1:2 paint: thinner) and both ruin the sheen. Is it impossible to top coat Alclad chrome with clear lacquers? Should I use enamel or acrylic?
2. A bit more of a retarded question: when people say “between coats” or “tacky coat first then a wet coat” do they mean passes of the airbrush or doing a coat, waiting 2-30 minutes then doing the next coat. If it’s the latter, how the fuck do people do a coat then clean their airbrush and do another. It seems like such a huge amount of time and effort allotted To something that isn’t painting. And if not how the fuck can they let their paint sit in the cup that long.
Thanks in advance.
