Wash your hands with a dish soap to get them grease free. Handle your toys, brand new if possible, and then rub your fingers together. You'll have a slick, not-quite slimy, sort of feel to them. That's the mold release.
All toys have a thin layer of mold release on them.
That mold release makes dust stick on, so it looks like it's attracting more dust than the rest of your furniture and makes it hardest to dust too.
So by washing your figures, you'll have a non-greasy feeling toy and makes your toys look dust free longer.... and makes them easier to dust.
