Anon who got two Scraphooks and hated them. Just got two Crashbars and this guy is fantastic. Everything feels right, no peg issues, great paint job, fun transformation and no danger of anything falling off or paint chipping since they actually took this into account for thr transformation. It annoys me how mediocre scrapbook is by comparison.

If >>10370194 is the toy you're talking about, I'm not sure I agree. It still has scrawny-ass legs and the torso is too much of an apple as opposed to a "v". Also the back of the truck is still a mess and there are giant, ugly gray panels covering up the sides of the cab.

Personally, Leader Scourge is one of the few ROTB figures I'm actually considering buying. Apart from the scrawny legs, I think he looks great. I'm stoked they actually did silver paint apps for all his little chains. He's got a lot of personality, and that's really what I'm looking for in my bots these days.

They're saying it's going to be a comic themed line including Marvel Soundwave.
No real source though. And miner Megatron is a pretty safe prediction since we already know it was planned and it thematically would coincide with the recent War Dawn stuff

Another day and again the leak environment on TFW2005 is as stable as a mental hospital, but like a retarded student during an exam, the "leaker" hit something by accident.
Someone was bored and looking for attention, so he posted the list with random TF's as the truth revealed for this and next year. Then Wreckgar with the correct past leaks announced that only one item on the attached list was true. Then Jtprime, bored with the circus, corrected that only two transformers there are true xd
And after a long pointless discussion about the legitimacy and of the leaks and who to trust, Jtprime confirmed that IDW Megatron and the Marvel Soundwave, which were the 3rd point from fake list.

You know what irks me the wrong way? Why is it that nobody could combine their Weaponizers with their Titans the right way? Well, at least with Metroplex and Trypticon's base modes since Fort Max, Grand Max, Scorponok and Black Zarak's Weaponizers do not become part of the base mode or anything.

Well I was fucked after Zavvi screwed me on Victory Saber so I looked out for other ways to get him. Thankfully 2 lads from tf facebook group helped me. well tigatron nailed it, i'm a big fan of cheetor but you'll want to get the netflix version AND finish the unpainted shins yourself with ultramarine and silver paint mixed.. tigatron is also missing some paint on his inner shins, seafoam green.. uh.. airazor's quite good despite needing a bigger beast mode head, megatron is good but you should wait for the upcoming show-accurate repaint of him and primal, terrorsaur is unable to be gotten at the moment and is out of scale anyway.. scorponok is stubby but there's an upgrade kit that helps..
tarantulas is amazing, he is probably the one they've nailed the hardest so far.
blackarachnia is also very impressive. inferno is garbage, stay far away. uhh little rattrap is cute, but too little.. i think that's everyone

which transformations don't you like? Primal cheaped out by not having his gorilla feet fold in, and his (like so many, many others) beast mode head is too small, but the gripes are minor.. he has the forearm cannons, he has the jets molded into his weird flap area.

An unpopular opinion I agree with, I bought a junker from the original to give the kingdoms head, I prefer the cleaner kibble management and dynamic looking torso from the original (how the head changes shape once you remove the mouth gun).

transmetal inferno isn't dumb, he's awesome! I got him around 2013 and I love him. thank god for shelfwarmers.. okay the leg kibble is too big, but that's the only problem. well also the feet end in dorky little right-angle boot shapes, but
here's the thing though, classic infernos? they frequently have a looseness problem. that clear plastic expanded kinda unevenly over the years. it's not as bad as GPS or anything, but you might have to tighten the joints up with floor polish. also i can't pretend he's amazing or anything, the ant mode is just... good. an ideal one would have a way to make the limbs thinner in that mode. and he has the eyes of a totally different kind of ant.

rhinox is an outlier just so we can have some common ground. the rest of us who are enjoying kingdom, we still shit on rhinox and scorponok. And hell, I bought scorponok's mold 3 times (on sale) but i haven't bought new rhinox yet, and i won't unless he gets a recolor as a different character. and even then, only on sale. everybody hates that rhinox, he's a spit in the eye to anyone who missed Generations rhinox, who is ... almost excellent, just with a small pelvis-tabbing/thigh motility problem, and small weapons.

Yeah, all that stuff's fine. Inferno is one of those characters with an impossible transformation, Legacy did a good job with what they had to do.
I mean, the original had one of the worst beast modes in the whole line, literally just the robot lying flat with his arms and legs out pretending to be an ant. No way they were doing that again.

well to be more precise, his transformation was kept accurate from the toy to the show, but streamlined. whereas some toy transformations just sucked, leaving crummy-looking limbs or big obvious robot parts visible, so when those were adapted to TV they made massive changes and often did magic cheating. in terrorsaur's case they couldn't get his wings to not be in the way so they just removed them instead of merely shrinking them..
inferno's beast mode actually looks fine, you just have to squint. it looks like a proper ant who just happens to have four really thick legs. I think they should have just made him scrawner in robot mode.

You can't really do that because the guns Sixgun is supposed to turn into already come with T30 Metroplex, especially the versions that have two red guns.
Like, you can probably figure something out with all the 5mm ports but it'll never be anything like the original.
On the other hand, Slammer does have a semi-official tower mode so there's that.

astoundingly, yes! the bottom is a little lower, and so you have to position the legs a little lower to keep it standing, and the back of the tail might stick out a little more, but the back of the tail was never going to look good anyway
the pelvis is so flexible that it can accept this extra waist piece AND deal with the weird stuff you're doing with the DLC parts, it's almost like they planned it out.
(you do have to remove the waist piece but it plugs into the back of the tail somewhat securely)

on the other hand, there's a different, nicer-looking set of thigh replacers that unfortunately do prevent transforming.

I just got a Trypticon and Brunt. Used Trypticon, unused sticker sheet. So after a scrub down it's going to be an afternoon of stucker fun.

Weirdly looking forward too it.

I got a Kingdom Galvatron upgrade kit that included leg extenders and I hated how it looked so I took them off and used the feet from a different upgrade kit. Sometimes it's just not worth the fuckery to make them taller.

it's not perfect by any stretch. It looks a lot better if you try to hunch him over. You can actually do some degree of hunching just by mistransforming him even without those pieces.

In Cheetah mode he's alright, I guess I shouldn't expect too much from the front legs but it really isn't that poseable aside from forwards and back movements. The rear legs are fine though and he looks nice next to his Beastmasters. Robot mode however is the best mode and I think the combination of his Transmetal form and BM form actually works.

Naginata mode is alright actually but can't get much good poses when his shoulders don't have butterfly joints. And also the waist, annoying that the buttflap has to move up to free his waist, it can get a little cumbersome to fiddle with him.

Thank fuck Hasbro brought back the little guys who turn into weapons size class. Was going to get Rhinox but figured Cheetor would complete the Cheetah dynasty and he works so well as underarm arm blades though he is attached underslung to the hands for it to work. My only real criticism is they used the same milky pearlescent plastic as they did on Jhiaxus, so he looks kind of cheap even though he feels solid. Other than that like >>10375664 says, he has all of the strengths of Cyclonus without the yellowing issues.

That list appears to be for the Japanese releases through Takara, hence the numerical codes, lack of differentiation of size classes, and dividing up into different waves of figures that were released together in the same wave here in the US by Hasbro.

You could find a list of wave breakdowns for the US (and other countries going by Hasbro instead of Takara), but distribution has been even screwier than usual this past year, so it’s extremely difficult to say what should be available when.

Got a cheap A Hero is Born pack. Figures came out fine, but after one transformation, I don't think I'll transform them again. The head on Orion is painted and the clearance is nearly razor thin for vehicle mode, while the smaller wings for Trion can make contact with the painted chest if you fold them inward like you're supposed to. No paint chips but I won't risk it.

Sort of related, never attach the key to Vector Sigma. For some crazy reason, you have to force it in because it doesn't have enough clearance, which will damage the key, rip off paint and make it nearly impossible to remove if inserted all the way. I left mine on top and didn't even attempt to insert it.

It's not that Scorponok or Terrorsaur have much going for them (though that's mainly due to them being supplanted by Inferno and Tarantulas) it's just that waspinator gets on my nerves, and while I will admit that the Quickstrike is the more flavourful scorpion out of the 2, there's something about Scorponok being dumb but loyal, and genuinely trying his best that's endearing to me

those two rear lines that you're taking as part of the abdomen, those are the two rear legs for a total of eight. the abdomen is the smaller lump.

strangely, the actual nazca lines have the opposite, an eight-legged ant. really looks like the 'Antol' enemies in xenoblade.

Ok so... I completely missed out on all the SS Dinobots. I'm holding out for an eventual rerelease of Grimlock with his sword anyway, but what about the rest?

I'm in the same boat. As far as I'm concerned I'll wait on a Grimlock redeco and skip the rest (maybe get sludge? He seems like he gets the least representation out of the team). Slag has a boring transformation and the others aren't particularily exciting for the pricepoint either. They released Galvatron and Laser Prime 3 times, and Grimlock is popular. It makes sense that they'll use his mold again

I'd say yes. Sludge is on the shelves right now, Slug can be found for near retail price, Snarl coming this year and Swoop coming next.

Grimlock is the only one that's ridiculous and I wouldn't rule out a reissue at some point.

Not that anon but funny you mention it, yeah pretty much every other Optimus Prime Super Modes that aren't Armada or RID2001 have Optimus either wearing a helmet or his head is extended. Armada and RID2001 Optimus is the only one who uses an entirely different head for his Super Mode.

Managed to get two of my biggest wants only a month apart. I finished Menasor just yesterday and got the Jetfire rerelease. Menasor is great and once everyone is attached he has some amazing heft to him. Jetfire was just a fantastic figure and with him I now have every Commander class since Siege started.

Honestly it kinda looks and feels better in hand. It IS very unfortunate that they're relegated to the back. And yeah the weight of them really makes him feel like he won't topple over at the slightest push. I can't describe it other than 'he heavy'. Heavier than Jetfire who is already pretty big.

For RiD2000, it wasn't even Optimus in the first place, they only had that freedom because it was a separate character.
While for Armada, its whole schtick was being the first complete reinvention of the franchise, which's why they mostly used brand new characters, and when they didn't like for Optimus/Megatron/Jetfire/Starscream etc, they were explicitly made to be big reinventions of who they were in G1.

There hasn't really been a series like Armada that reinvented TF to the same extent and had the same freedoms as it did except arguably Rescue Bots and Animated, everything since has mostly been safer reinterpretations of "evergreen" bs. Not that that's inherently bad, I love WfC/FoC and the first two baymovies, but, yknow.
