What are these?? I'm pretty sure I had blocks like that in my very early childhood in the early 80s. I remember them feeling lighter than Lego. They seemed cheap and inferior by comparison growing up, but now there is something strangely nostalgic about those bricks.

I checked the actual page, it hasn't been updated in close to a decade. By the look of things, it seems like it was written by some Russian guy who was studying in Pyongyang and stopped updating it after graduation.

Doesn't really seem as interesting as you'd hope. Relatively little motivation for domestic entrepreneurs (duh). They mainly come from China and Japan, no tie-ins or whatever, full stores in the cities, little supply makes it to the communal farms.
