not nessesairily, but the odds right now are not kind for that rumor.
a few 4.5" pokemon did end up in the 6"selects (charizard, greninja and mewtwo soon) so its not going to mean it cant, but unless we see new evidence for 6"decidueye i wont incluede it

the ones ive asked said they have no news yet, Jazwares told me to "keep an eye out on their social medias" and i kind of politely gave them feedback how they never inform about such things and should be more transparent about it.

I feel like our chances at a 6" Decidueye are dead. He's being re-released in this 4.5" wave with Luxray, and also is going to clogging the Target shelves with that stupid pearly paint evolution pack about to start coming to stores.

Hopefully the do release a Select version eventually or else that would just be another big fumble from Jazwares IMO. Samurott and Typhlosion but no Decidueye?

True. That Mew/Mewtwo pack was from like 5-6 months ago, to be fair. I just think it's not looking so good for our Select Decidueye if there's two other Decidueye figs potentially on shelves at the exact same time :(

Between all these various SKUs, are ANY found in more than a single country at more than a single retail chain? 2" Battle Packs, 2" Clip n Go, 2" Display Case, 2"&3" Battle Figure 3-Packs, 4.5" Battle Feature, 6" Select, 12" Epic (those are the main ones, there are even more though).

I have never in my life seen ANY company have such a fucked up release and distribution pattern and SO many SKUs under the same IP that are all affected. And it's been going on for years with Jazwares and only getting worse.

Yea someone had to make the conscious decision to pick Decidueye for the 4.5 wave. Like out of all the figures they could've pick to rerelease they chose that one. And as I'm thinking about it, that Blastoise if basically in the same situation as the Decidueye lol. We've got a bigger Charizard and Venasaur and we're still stuck with the same smaller Blastoise.

Likely because the articulation that could be added to a 6" Select Blastoise is pretty minimal. He'd still be mostly a brick. That's probably why it hasn't happened yet, but I for one, would appreciate a slightly larger Blastoise than the 4.5" even if the added arm and leg articulation would be pretty useless

Dunno if it's been reported on, but I've been to a couple of Ross' in my area and found multiple of these Valintine's Day packs for $4. Not a bad deal if they're actually legit, but considering Ross' recent history with Pokemon I was wary they'd be bootlegs again. I think they're real, but I only wanted the Alcremie set and the ones they had had messed upped faces, so I didn't get any to verify or not.

That looks legit. All the bootlegs we've seen have been old WCT molds Jazwares inherited, and using their old packaging. These also don't have any packaging errors like the bootlegs did. There are no bootleggers on alibaba selling any of these figures, so these are legitimate.

But why the heck is a discount chain getting this wave when it was so impossible to find in the first place?? I understand discount stores receiving waves of figures that sold poorly and rotted on shelves so the manufacturer had surplus sold to them at a discount, but this wave (and most Jazwares stuff) only had like one case shipped to each Target and that was it. No re-stocks or anything. Everything about Jazwares' handling of Pokemon figures is baffling.

they probably got sent to target warehouses and never ended up making it to stores so then when they did inventory and saw a bunch of unsold stuff they offloaded it to another merchant (in this case, Ross but in other cases you'd probably see stuff like Ollies etc)

There's been instances before. Tyranitar hurt the most. And the fact that this is labeled W4 with Dragapult and Typhlosion, yet the upcoming Suicune is labeled W5, and that has been shown as coming out next with Mewtwo. That doesn't bode well for a 6" Decidueye, especially couples with multiple other 4.5" Decidueye figs shipping at the same time.

They usually sync with what's been revealed. The newest moncolle is Morpeko. so if iirc, we'll get Lechonk, Smoliv then Grafaiai, but Shroodle, we'll likely get via gashapon or some other limited line

Not entirely true. They had that Journeys multi pack with all of Ash's team aside from Dracovish, and Ash himself. I think it's just hard to synchronize anything with Jazwares since they are soooooooo slow to get things out. They're always taking a minimum of almost 2 years to get figures of mons that have just been revealed out. So by the time something gets a figure that was prominent in an anime or new game, the tie-in is already long past. Look how Samurott and Typhlosion JUST came out now. No doubt they put those two and the maybe or maybe not cancelled Decidueye in the Select line right when they found out what the starters for Legends Arceus was - February of 2021.

Jazwares definitely has several 'groups' they're working to complete though, that are clearly playing a large part in the character selection they make figures of. Starters, mons that have been on Ash's teams throughout the anime seasons, Dragon types, 'baby' mons, mons that complete evolution lines they've started, etc

I know I was just saying that if these low poly models are freely available and the anon wanted to give them a more Lego mold feel like >>10389028 (still somewhat simplified and angular but less so then this low poly stuff) he could use acetone to pick and choose what to smooth instead of trying to modify the models which might be beyond his skill. The alternative would be printing regular high poly pokemon models which again are too smooth and detailed for the Lego mold look.

You're kidding right? Acetone won't 'smooth' anything like that. Acetone is used to remove painted on details and stuff, not change the physical structure of PLA prints.

There is a way to use acetone to smooth sculpts (at least I think it was acetone) using the fumes. In the right amount it can smooth layer lines and give it a shiny finish. Well... at least based on a video I watched. Never actually tried it.

Yeah, thats not correct. Like anon above posted, it is possible to smooth layer striations, but not to completely re-shape the printed object like the original poster was suggesting. But yeah, why not just have 3d models that are the right shape you want instead of screwing around with acetone? And use a resin printer instead of a shitty PLA one.

Theres a bunch of different factors. Type of printer, size of printer, material you're printing with, if you're printing modes available for free online, or using ones you had to purchase online, or having models created from scratch via 3d modeler, etc.

Those geometric looking models are printed with a PLA (filament) printer which I think look horrible due to the quality, but to jump in with a hobby level Resin (SLS/SLA) printer, you could get a pretty good one and some resin+all the needed accessories for under $400, and just print models already available for free (or a super small fee) online

Free market today in my country, surprisingly little pokemon toys here compared to previous years. Was mainly cards.
Still got a WCT Lapras for a few euros. Little dirty, but should be cleanable.
There were a few others as well for a higher price (Select/Epic), but they were missing stands and were child-mangled.
Was also a guy selling a shitload of knockoff stuff from cards to prints, who did have one of the holiday packs. But since all those other goods were fake, that probably would've been too. Then again, I have enough pikachu/kanto starter figs already.

Jazwares seriously slowed down actually putting product out. It's so crazy how drastically the volume just stopped. Even comparing 2022 to this year, they had like 15+ multi packs out halfway through 2022, and multiple waves of the other lines as well (2", 3-packs, 4.5" etc.). This year has just been so barren. It's more than the hats through. The mons themselves have the same diamond-faced look so everything would need entirely new sculpts and tooling. I don't know what you mean by 'remold' but they'd have to create new tooling for everything, so theres' no cheap or easy way to make terastalised figures.

Speaking of multi packs, two just went up on Target's site. The Cinderace/Absol/Pikachu pack for only $13 which seems incredibly low priced, and the 4-pack with the sitting sculpts of the Kanto starters for $20 which seems seems priced pretty high.

G-Max forms often have super small details compared to their overall size that don't translate well into figures unless the figures are large. Plus many had 'floating' elements like the dumb clouds, or music notes and such that would be another thing that would be hard to do 100% accurately. I think Moncolle only did like 3 Gmax form figures and they were all their large 5"+ figures. Most all of those Gmax designs just wouldn't work on figures any smaller than that.

Reminder of whats in the rest of the wave.

I'm REALLY missing the abundance of various multi-packs as a way to get so many of these figures from the Magmar/Electabuzz wave a few waves back up to this Porygon wave. These things are all virtually impossible to find in the US and each wave is even more scarce and scalped for higher prices it seems.

It'd end up being a shitty action feature where you got open holes when they're retracted and press a button for them to pop out.

Plamo would probably have you open the back and swap the dots for spikes, similar to Gengar's face/tongue.

One issue with Maushold/Tandemaus is that its literally multiple distinct and separate figures but billed as one mon. So it'll be comparatively much more expensive to produce a figure of than other mons. I'm glad though, because I hate those designs. Just way too bland and boring for me.

It'll be interesting to see about two years from now how many Gen 9 mons we got from Jazwares. They made a TON from Galar, but I feel like Paldea has a lot less 'figure friendly' designs, and so many that just are hard to make as 2"-4.5" figures for various reasons. Plus with Jazwares barely producing anything near the same amount of figures as they did the last few years, I feel like we won't end up with much Gen 9 figure representation, which I won't be too upset about frankly.

I think the same issue applies. With only one Epic figure each year, do they only make one Legendary? Both and take up two year's worth of slots? Like last gen, one final evo of the starters NEEDS to be an Epic figure since it simply won't fit in any other packages. Skeledirge is 100% a lock for one of the Epics. Both Koraidon and Miraidon seem like they'd be kind of small if they were a 6" Select, and who knows what's going on with that line as well since it's now a Targt exclusive and could end at the drop of a hat.

The mascot situation for gen 8 was bizarre. Like if you don't make the mascots for your big figures what are you even making? There were 2 sets of the sun moon legendaries from Tomy and WCT as well as Necrozma. There were also figures of Yveltal, Xerneas, Groudon, Kyogre during that era. Maybe gen 9 will be different this time around. The mascot designs were known before Skeledirge so maybe those two will come first. I don't think the next epic will even be those yet though, there's probably some other figure they had in the pipeline before them.

Tomy USA did a Rockruff and WCT/Jazwares have done one too. Lucario has a 6" super articulated one from Jazwares, and a 3" basic articulation one. 6" one is really big comapred to most other figures, and the 3" one is a bit too small to scale with other stuff. Plamo Lucario also exists if you don't mind the lack of much useful articulation and assembling it yourself. Riolu came with the Plamo and Jazwares also did an unarticulated Riolu.

Its decent. He can move his wings, neck/head rotate, hip pivot and the tail moves. Though the tailtip on mine is SO tight im not sure if that part moves or is just a weird seamline.
For the price it was ok for me due nostalgia. But id say its a toy that will vary heavily per person if you like it or not.

Like the other anon said, I think its too soon for that. It takes several months to get a figure designed and tooled, so I'm sure they were getting everything else they had in the works out first before we see any Paldea mons.

I am a bit concerned that this is turning into a very Legendary or Pseudo Legendary-heavy line now though. I want all kinds of mons to get some love, not just Legendaries who in most cases have already have plenty of decent figures.

Mcdonalds toys and TCG promos are both outside of the master toy licenses that Jazwares/WCT/Tomy US/Jakks/Hasbro have had. I wonder if there's rules in the toy licenses that prevent companies from doing them. With how expensive it is to tool new figures, and how much toy companies love repaints, you bet they'd be doing at least a few shinys if they were able to. I think Hasbro back around 2000-2002 was the last time a domestic company has made proper shiny figures, right?

I want to say that there's still probably some truth to the Jazwares line being mainly "anime" focused. Although honestly the picks for new figures are so fucking weird that I'd figure either someone up the chain is making them or they're throwing darts at a poster with every Pokemon on them and weeding them out from there.

Hasbro's was the last one that specifically was shiny Pokemon. It really is bizarre though that even something like Funko isn't doing shiny variants. (So far they've done flocked and pearlescent)

Unless the Pokemon is specifically shiny (like the Movie Celebi) we probably wont see much of anything in the regular retail stuff. Only the figures in with TCG. The Shiny Fug from the anime though is pretty interesting because we might get some on the US side if they end up focusing on the new anime.

I think for choices, anime focus and general popularity are often the same/overlap. Jazwares has the Jigglypuff with the marker which is clearly from the anime. Then there's Typhlosion and Samurott I don't believe have appeared in the anime for quite some time and are likely game related.

This is all the proof in the world that TPCi isn't allowing domestic licensees to produce shiny merch. Everyone knows damn well that if they were allowed, Funko and Jazwares would be putting out lots of shiny repaints. They both live repacks/repaints so much.

Ya I totally agree. Add to those, Pika-clones, and figures to complete evolutionary lines. So while the recent Carvanha or Bellossom may seem a bit odd, they shouldn't since they have a Sharpedo, and an Oddish already.

Another trend is figures that fit a 'holiday' theme that can be repacked in the halloween or xmas advent calendars, or two packs. That explains away ones like Cubchoo, Duskull, Litwick.

I don't think any of their character selection is too far out of left field

I'm afraid this line won't live on very long at that price without any changes. It already looks like far fewer people are buying Typholsion and Dragapult based on the the number of reviews on Target's site. More than likely, people simply don't know they exist since they are not sold on Amazon, and since Jazwares doesn't do any advertising.

They were 29.99 at Canadian Gamestop and I believe 32 at TRU. The conversion from US msrp is never great, usually stuff that would be $20 would go up to $30. Probably looking at 35 if its going to be 26 usd now.

Had a thought about the mascots the other day, we might get them as Selects rather than epic. The fully evolved Paldea starters will likely be the same as Galar where they're 2 battle feature 1 epic. In the interest of more coverage they're not going to make Meowscarada twice in 2 lines. So what new Pokemon do you make in Select? Gen 8 did Dragapult.

The Selects are non scaled and the box is actually pretty big you can fit a decently sized toy of the mascots in them. You could curl Miradon a bit like Rayquaza and Koraidon can be like Charizard. And you can ship out both mascots in the same wave instead of the one at a time epic scales.

Paldea Starter 2-packs. No idea when or if these will ever show up in the US. (The answer is probably not). It sure is miserable to be a Jazwares collector in the US. Also still no word if the Kanto Starter 2-packs that have been out in the UK since April will ever make it to the US as well.

Since Pikachu is packed in with each of these three, that means this is likely another of those 'mini-waves' of three different sets that's been exclusive to a store in all past years. I guess there's still a chance these show up in a traditional battle figure 2-pack wave in the US, but does it even matter since the distribution has devolved so much and nobody ever sees anything at all?

Open mouth would require molding it in separate parts due to the overhang, plus a big seam line. For a first figure, basic looks work i think.

Ok, I know the distribution is horrible, but there is no possible way you didn't see the Galar starters about 800 times. They have been repacked in various multi packs and stuff a trillion times since 2021. Jazwares was actually pumping out multi packs and various things the last two years as well so there were dozens each year.

Right now, the TCG is the only one making figures and they're more mini statues than figures. Currently I believe you can find the Shiny Zacian/Zamazenta TCG sets and you can probably find the figures loose on ebay or Mercari.

Yeah, I doubt we get the two Gen9 Legendaries from Jazwares. They are just soooooo slow at making the larger mons. Only one Epic scale figure each year really puts a damper on what they can make. Plus, Skeledirge is 100% taking up that slot for 2024.

I guess theres a chance they do both as 6" Selects, but I doubt that line will be around another year or two. And they're super behind and still releasing figures that had been planned ages ago, plus even doing that super slowly.

Well obviously Good Smile has made some of the highest quality mini figures. They aren't priced like the retail store mass produced stuff Tomy/Jakks/Jazwares has put out. Their QC is in an entirely different league than all the other companies too, but that's the price we pay.
