I just got the threezero and have not opened it up yet, but I have the Innovation Point TB and it is really nice. I love the proportions on it. It is my favorite so far.

Can't speak for other but I'm pretty happy with the Riobot, feels more lighter than I expected. Not that I want a lot of die-cast or anything, especially with the floppy mess that was the Armor Plus figures, but it feels "cheaper" and hollow than I would like it.

Don't know how much the ThreeZero goes for but I'd take a look at reviews, it looks nicer.

Riobot Tekkaman Blade is pretty good, but far from perfect. The antenna likes to pop off from his head, and he has a weird hollow torso similar to the old SPEC. But he is a fun figure to have. Maybe a bit short for 1/12 scale- he looks short compared to Star Wars, but would probably be fine with SHF and Figma sized figures.

How does the old Figma hold up? I know it's pretty ancient now but some of those older Figmas are still pretty aight.

Fun. Hah. But for real, Tekkaman Blade is my favorite anime. It's great.

Awful, honestly. Blade has an awkward sculpt, kind of like Tekkaman Blade 2 OVA style that doesn't look right. Evil pops apart at the waist ball joint and I can't get it to stay back on. Of all the versions I've gotten, they're the ones I like the least- and I have the Evolution Toys figures. At least those are known for being shitty.

The figma is probably more accurate to 1/18 scale, but the Evolution Toys also fits, as does the old SPEC figure.

As much as I love the Riobot, my copy seems to have an issue where the elbows were really floppy and jiggly, even more so nowadays.

I wonder if the re-release was better in that regard.

I got the reissue after I got the Riobot Evil and sold the Armor Plus Blade and Evil.

No floppy limbs, but his butt hinge to mount the shield didn't fit, like it was too small. A bit of Super Glue to thicken the peg fixed that, though.

They aired Tekkaman Blade in the United States and called it TEKNOMAN. That is where I first saw it. Bandai came out with some kits around that time, but I'm glad TB is getting some nice toys now, I waited a lot of years to finally get these.

I wonder if a Tekkaman reboot anime is coming one day soon.

The anime really dropped the ball after the..big event with blades sister.. i wont spoil it but if youve watched the series you know what im referring to.
A lot of goofy shit. I remember hearing the creator was looking to top Evangelion and was interested in a "handicapped" hero, but the trials blade faces after what happens with his sis.. man that shit was lame. But blade is such a cool design, all of the desings were cool. But. The story for the show was garbage after a certain point. And the sequels sucked.
Aki was great though. I would love a figure of her. In fact, the supporting cast was cool but the overall story drops the ball.

I strongly disagree. After the sister arc, there is a road trip arc that can feel like filler, but it let's them explore the world and show how Earth is being affected by the alien invasion, while also giving time to fill in Blade and Evil's backstory. It also allows the series to play with older classic sci-fi tropes. While not as good as the sister arc, by the time they get to Alaska, things start ramping back up like sister arc.

Tekkaman Blade came out in 1992, Eva was 1995.

Tekkaman Blade 2 gets a lot of hate because it's more like a typical anime with an annoying moeblob as the lead. But that's only for the first three episodes. The second three episode is more interesting with Dead and David. Plus Tekkaman Blade 2 has Tekkaman Aki, and I can't hate Tekkaman Aki.

Teknoman has an interesting voice cast. Paul Schrier, most famous as Bulk in Power Rangers, voiced Evil's English adaption, Teknoman Saber.

Barbara Goodson, who voiced Star Summers, the English version of Aki, I first knew as Doris Lang in the first Vampire Hunter D movie, is also the voice of Rita Repulsa.

And Bryan Cranston (yes, that Brian Cranston) voiced O'Rourke, the old drunk soldier that befriends Blade/Slade. He also voiced Snizard in Power Rangers, which also just got a toy.

Yea im not bright on anime history so maybe i misread that whole evangelion thing.. id have to look back into it.

Not a fan of tekkaAki, but Aki is great so i wont argue.
