when did you get out of ninjago ? if you did.
I stopped in 2017 with hands of time after 7 years of watching it religiously on CN right when the episodes came out due to hating the new movie designs at the time, I don't really dislike them as much now.
and I stopped buying toys after rebooted
and favorite weekend whip? mine is the Ghost Whip, post em.

And the 8459 is now clean, moving onto drying, with no disasters! Yay! I even ran the stickered parts in the same wash as the rest, two 45 minute cycles at 55 C with a middle rinse, and they came out fine with no peeling whatsoever.

This particular set smelled quite heavily of some kind of perfume, and that smell is completely gone now. It smells like nothing. Fresh, pure nothing. Like opening a new set. Perfect.

Soap and water is enough for casuals. I'm very hardcore. My LEGO is pristine.

Look at this picture. It's second-hand LEGO from 2005, yet there's but a particle of dirt buried in the holes and crevices. All the dust you can see is my self-accumulated shelf dust, and that's fine.

Thank you. Though I wouldn't recommend an ultrasonic just for LEGO. The actual reason I do it is because it's cheaper to experiment on LEGO than on the very expensive things I actually have those cleaners for. Ultra-clean LEGO is just a really nice by-product.

Here's the kind of local listing to look out for if you're interested building a bone-cheap lego collection.

Prime lowball bait. Tell them it looks like 15, land on 20, and collect your discount blocks. You'll have to filter the interesting bits out of the rainbow puke but I guarantee you're saving money even if you're buying 10x the parts than just bricklinking specific items or *spit* buying new sets. I don't buy lots like this anymore unless it's *way* lower than 20, but for a guy building a new collection when they still have the novelty of buying new stuff, this is the exact kind of listing image and language to look out for.

The last time I bought something like that I ended up getting pricked by a needle that was mixed in with the lego. Had to go to the doctor. Luckily they put me on PEP and I avoided a potential HIV infection. Just saying, be careful when you’re going through these bricks and probably wear gloves.

11 or 12 years ago. The story wrapped up and I gracefully accepted its conclusion. Now, any fond memories of the theme and show(mostly the show) are replaced with contempt for what it has become and what it has done.

Thanks! Yeah I liked the original torso build too but my original idea was to scale everything down fully.
I started off condensing the torso so Nya's head would sit closer to the robot's head like the show design, maybe attempt the helmet idea they use, but that wasn't really realistic with the proportions I had in mind so I just left it and rescaled the head to match. The limbs are mostly the original design but rebuilt around different joints. The pelvis and hips use single ratchet connectors for one for full universal movement, and the shoulders use the newer ratchet in reverse from how it's usually used, giving it universal movement as well as putting the shoulder pauldron on its own ratchet.

Here's a closer look at how the shoulders work. It's offset a little from the rotation point but the shoulder pieces are designed offset forward to counteract that visually.

And again I cannot stress enough how much I love how this smaller head tirned out.

Ah. All cleaned and dried. There's only the slightest hint of perfume left in the soft tyres, and I've learned that that's unavoidable. I usually sort the parts out into sorters by category, but since I have the original insert for this one, I just had to put them in there (and the insert has of course also been cleaned). Like new. I got a couple of smaller sets from the first wave because ninjas were new and cool to me at that point. Never watched the show and had no interest in vehicleshit but made a ninja temple for the adventurers to explore with the ninjas fighting against the CMF samurai. After that I never cared about it again. I have a few Ninjago sets from bulk lots which I plan to sell off at some point.

I would had posted fully system ones but those don't capture the aesthetic. having few specialized molds + more general use knee/elbow joints is necessary to make G3 work within system. 2025 is not right around the corner, there's a whole year to lay parts of the foundation with another wave of marvel mechs and capeshit figures.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if Ninjago bowed out right now, being an evergreen theme for 12 years straight with a long-ass cartoon running alongside it is impressive for any original Lego theme. Plus it'd allow them to branch off and try new themes with what made Ninjago great in the first place (Imagine a Castle theme with heavy Dragon theming or a full-on Mech theme like Exo-Force).

Another theme with color coded Knights could be interesting.

This is the final one.
I am getting this set as well because I want to collect all the main protags without a dupe, plus the croc car hybrid reminds me of Chima and it has a really cool color scheme compared to the Chima croc sets.
Although I am upset that this set has a dupe minifigure in the boy with the retainer.

There's still a temple that hasn't leaked yet, but yeah location sets have sadly become a lot more sparse in the last couple years. A shame, I really like location sets too, and the Ninjago set designers can come up with some really cool builds when allowed.

If you have electronics in the same room or use an HVAC system or keep the windows open then the room will accumulate dust really annoyingly fast. I'd say choose a day out of the week to check for dust accumulation (if it doesnt look too dusty in 1 week check next week). If there is a build up of dust you can do a quick dusting with a soft bristle brush. You can also buy paint brushes dedicated to inking/water colors with very long handles so you can reach into places. If there's an art store or hobby shop near you they most likely have them for individual purchase. Some also say a GOOD 24/7 mini air purifier works well, but in my experience that all depends on getting the right size air purifier for the room space, keeping the windows and doors closed, and letting it run on a timer at max speed while I'm not in there.

It's called the Empress' mech, it's more core mech sized but seems to have actual limb joints. It's also bundled with some sort of bigger dragon. Honestly a pretty solid set out of what we've seen.

i can, ive met these people its quite interesting observing the difference between the two groups
set builders get all excited about buying a set, they build it then put it on a shelf and walk off
MOCers also get excited about buying sets but almost immediately after making it (often before as well) the tinkering begins, combining it with other shit, making silly builds, trying to make an idea they had work with the limited parts they have
the non mocer gets the enjoyment of building their set then its done, enjoying it again when they look at it
the mocer gets hours of enjoyment over and over again as they tinker, play and new ideas spring forth
i genuinely feel sorry for people who have no desire to moc, it feels like they are missing 95% of what makes lego great, to me its the equivalent of someone buying a heafty gaming pc and only ever using it for solitaire, just seems like a waste
