How do i stop buying toys? Im already having a hard time getting rid of my excess stuff i dont want anymore yet im still compelled to buy more toys that i dont need. Itd be fine if it was only once in a while for something i really wanted but i have this completionist mindest i cant get out of

You ever play with I mean pose your toys? The time you spend with your toys will make you realize their quality or sentiment you have with them. You'll realize the toys you have are not worth keeping and you'll get rid of them somehow which will leave you room for more stuff you'll buy anyway. You'll eventually more analytical with your toys and realize you wont need to buy them because they just arent worth it

Start unboxing the ones you got and stop buying them just to display them. Try every single one of their supposed features. Look for possible QC issues. Pose multiple toys together if they're action figures to see how well they scale with each other. You will realize that there are only a few lines among your collection that are actually, objectively good and even within those lines there will be hits and misses. Also stop buying shit just because you think woah this is cheap and I need my daily dopamine hit, this is what usually leads to the bad kind of completionism that you're talking about.

Try saving for something bigger? I'm currently saving for a house and am attempting to put off anything frivolous. I could buy literally any figure I want right now if I dipped into my savings but knowing it would set me further back helps me to not do that.

Everytime you see something in a store that you want you have to think "Why do I want this" or simply carry just enough money to buy whatever you came there for. Maybe seek some mental health if things get worse.

My issue is my interests are spread too thin. There's not really one thing I collect, it's all things I like and it feels like a mess and causes a lot of big purchases that go over budget.
